this is a link to a Metro map, I used it to plan my trip. Is easier to read than the one you will get when you buy tickets because the colors of line are very distinct Also click on the "open book" icon for metro info. BTW I didn't print out I just used primarily for figuring out a route to hotel from Gare de Nord without going through Chatalet des Halles. www.amadeus.net/home/new/subwaymaps/en/paris.htm

Thanks Penny. I needed that as I've been getting a little worried looking at my little metro maps in the guidebooks.
I have been the one planning this whole trip, and everyone is counting on me to get us where we are going. Its a huge joke, really, because I am notorious for getting lost!

Roniece, I forget to mention that I love your avatar also. You should have seen what Andi and I went through to get my first one and now, I'm a pro. About nothing else though

Penny, This is a great map with the colors and lines being so distinct. Thanks The colors that appear on this map are the "official" colors of each of the lines. If you use the system often enough, you'll often find yourself responding more to the colors on the directional signs than to the words/placenames.

That's true even for less frequent visitors...my daughter summed it up when we were in NY this weekend: "The Paris metro is so easy to use...even in a different language!". I know that I find it more user friendly than the NY subway system...but maybe I'm a bit prejudiced. In any event...DON'T be afraid newbies - it's a great and very user friendly system. Thanks Penny.
