Hi all geordy - I never claimed my Eccos to be smart, but you know what - let me quote Clark Gable: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a d**n".

I must say,, when I grew up thongs were flip flops. I still call them that, which drives my kids insane,,, as in when I yell, " Zackary did you wear my thongs"( we used to have same size feet) .. LOL , gosh that freaked him out!!!

Until I joined the other forum (you know where) I had never heard of them being called thongs, we have always known them to be flip flops, so imagine my surprise to read titles like "Will my thongs be acceptable in Paris?" I say wear what ever you feet are acustomed to, everyone will be too busy looking at the scenery, rather than the pavement, and no-one is going to give you a prize for wearing the most stylish of footwear.

They have always been called thongs in Australia and the term flip flops are generally used for really casual thongs (the type you may want to wear in the shower should you be camping). Glad we can clarify these things on the forum!!

To get back to weather related stuff........ Remember ALWAYS to turn on the TV in the morning on France 2 "Télématin", from 6:30 to 8:45. There is météo/weatherforecast every half hour, starting at 6:30, then 6:50, 7:20, 7:50 and 8:20 telematin.france2.fr/telematin-vod.phpAND best of all: the host William Leymergie - the BIGGEST Paris holiday icon for me, even bigger than Notre Dame. Once I turn on Télématin and see William on the first morning of my stay, I KNOW I am in Paris !

If he is such a has-been, how come he can attract all those gorgeous babes to appear in Télématin, eehhhh ??!! I also don't really care much for Notre-Dame either, but she is still a Paris icon. As is my William ! OK, I'll exalt you anyway !

Dearest Gitte, those "gorgeous babes" are being PAID to appear in Telematin ! Now, take a loooong and close look at your idol (and at his jacket too, by the way) : isn't the Truth slowly beginning to sink in ?
