Gitte:
at one time you had posted a site for abbreviations, I lost all my favorites when I had my PC cleaned up.
I did a search here with no luck.
Would you post again?
thanks.

Annette - I know what you're going through! I was the appointed "travel agent" for the group of 7 in our 60th birthday celebrations! I cannot tell you how many apartments I looked at in Paris and then guesthouses in Provence!! However, all the time and research paid off because we all loved both the Paris Perfect apartments and the guesthouse/B&B in Pernes les Fontaines.
I am SO with you on beauty, decor, and charm being important! If I'm going to stay in a Paris apartment, I want the "perfect" one that epitomizes Paris to me!
I just don't have the energy to go through all the apartments you and the others have listed -- I think I'm still struggling with Paris apartment "burn out."
Good luck in the search -- very time consuming, isn't it?!?!?!?

Oooo, Ray...that one is interesting! Thanks!
Betsy, I hadn't noticed the separate electricity charge--that's weird! Oh well, the place is booked anyway.

When I was looking, I learned you really had to read all the tiny added bits...the telephone not being included makes sense but I did encounter some that charged for the electricity and one that charged for I think...garbage separately. But its so much fun to search for one! I wish I had been on this forum..or maybe it wasn't inexistance yet... when I picked the one we rented, cause some of your suggestions are really good. I wouldn't recommend the one we stayed at. Maybe we will be able to do it again some time cause I have LOTS of apartments saved that I can 'savuer'.

Betsy you silly person - of course you will do it again! Just get a credit card that is linked to one of the major airlines' frequent flyer programs, and you will accumulate miles for tickets pretty painlessly. It does take a lot, but you would be surprised how they add up (especially if you do any business travel).

Our apartment is finally a done deal! This is the one we've decided upon, and it's on hold awaiting the paperwork-- franceforrent.com/maraisrooftops2/images.shtmlThanks for helping me hash this all out and for putting up with my indecisiveness! I think the 4 of us will be very happy here. Our dates are Oct. 15-22. Now I can start another countdown! ;D

Wow, that's really nice - I liked it when you first posted the link, and I think you'll all do well there. (And if not, well, being the tour organizer sometimes can be a thankless task . . . . hopefully these people really understand how much work you did to come up with this!)

Annette, CONGRATULATIONS! You put SO much work into this. You'd better not get 1 complaint. No one will dare, they'll be out having too much fun. It looks so nice and cozy. 2 bedrooms/2 full bathrooms, A WORKING FIREPLACE and a washer. Whats not to love. The other ladies will really get it when they understand they can bring an empty suitcase with them for all the goodies they will be bringing back. Thats how important a washer is! So to you i say; GOOD JOB AND A LITTLE KARMA! Susan

Annette - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that apt. ! I can't imagine anything more perfect to suit your needs. I can just see the 4 of you sitting around that lovely table, having coffee and a croissant while discussing your plans for the day.

Annette...That looks like a great choice for your group! Plenty of room to move around and 2 bathrooms!!
I know you are relieved! It is a real chore to put something like this together for a group. I hope they are appreciative.
Now, you can relax a bit!
Good job..............

Thanks, Ladies! Yes, it's a huge relief to have this part done! Susan, you're right, a washer is going to be much appreciated. We decided we would survive without separate beds, so that widened the choices a lot. Gitte, we wanted to keep it under $400 per night, so this one was just barely under! I CAN picture us sitting around that table with our morning croissants, Shoesy! The ladies going with me are just the best--they're all very tidy like me, our energy levels are pretty equal, our interests are similar, and they're all so much fun to hang out with, so we should all get along well. We're going to have an absolute blast!
