We are seriously looking into going to Paris in Mid June. We'd like an apartment in the Marais district, and we'd like to stay about 2 weeks. Out of all the apartment leasers out there, is there 1-2 that rent in that area the most. I know about Monmarte, E.T.and several others that rent exclusively to 1 or 2 areas, so I'm asking for help. Just talking about renting gives me chills. As far as cost goes, again, it depends on the dollar and for me, it's like picking out a car..........what color did you say it was? I want cozy, romantic, Parisian. Not modern, well........maybe the bathroom and it's only going to be for the 2 of us. I have looked a a million places all over Paris and I like the Marias area. I've also looked at apartments in that district, but just need a little help. It will be my first time renting an apartment and thats a little nerve wracking your first time. Thanks in advance. Susan my first advice is hurry hurry hurry! The great place might already be rented, June is a popular month. Did you have a look at the selection for the 3rd arrondissement on VRBO ?
It will be easier to comments on location and apartement once you give us a few selection. But you will see, once you stayed in an apartment there is no going back!

Susan, check out vacationinparis.com There are three apts in the Marais. I've not stayed in any of them but I've used this company several times and will use them again. And, as Luc says, don't dilly-dally about making a decision. June is a popular time to be in Paris!

Susan - I almost didn't recognize you with that brand new avatar of yours! ;D Anyway, that's such great news that you're thinking of spending 2 weeks in Paris in June! Go for it! I'm sure you'll find an apt., and even if it isn't the most perfect one, it'll give you a place to stay.

Whilst we haven't used them, www.parisbestlodge.com has got some good feedback and the range of apartments looks good, different sizes and prices and I think it's owner direct.

This is a good way for me to get my desk cleaned off. I've got reams of paper covering the top of my desk from all the things i think I need to know the "next time we go to Paris". I know that I've kept everything that Gitte has written....that encyclopedic knowledge of hers is a great help and the same with Becky. The only BUT I have is that none if it is in any kind of order, so while I kept pages of apartments as they came and went, I just noticed that I may need a better system called filing. Becky, not to long ago we were talking about apartments. This one was on the River with a tiny little terrace. Do you have ANY idea who rented that one out. I figure that if I can't get one in June, then maybe it will have to be end of August, first week of SEpt. I so much want to see the gardens. So far, thanks for your thoughts. I'll quickly keep plugging along. Susanb

Susan, I think you are talking about one I have rented from Guest Apartment Services ( www.guestapartment.com) three times and really liked. It's not a bargain as compared to some other places (even others of theirs) but is a great location if the price doesn't make you wince. Here is the link to the apartment information: www.guestapartment.com/apartment,1_bedroom,ile_saint_louis__4th_district_,ROSE.html They also have some large studios that are very nice, like this one: www.guestapartment.com/apartment,large_studio,ile_saint_louis__4th_district,ACACIA.html Sorry, I can't make the link go to the whole string - you'll have to copy and paste the address. We will all have fun checking out your discoveries as you do your search. Luckyluc is right, however, you need to do this right away!

Becky, Your right. Those are the apartments I've been looking for and as we speak, I've been reading up and making my list. They are a little more expensive but my husband just retired this year and got a little extra bonas and we can spoil ourselves for once. Not forever, just for once! Still need to watch my Euros and then some. Thanks for being my brain! Susan

I had the best time going through the Guest Apartment Site tonight. The apartments are certainly adorable, almost every single one of them. I can't wait to contact the owner and see whats left. Except for the airfair, we can be very flexable on our our times. Im starting to get exited, just looking at all those apartments gives me a thrill. It's been 2 years since we've been there, so I'm ready. And with all of the information that I've gleaned from the site, FUN IS AROUND EVERY CORNER!!! Remember, we have a little more Euros to spend this year and only this year, as my husband did get a special little retirement check. Thanks for your help Susanb

Congratulations to your husband on his retirement, Susan! May I dare to assume his "little" retirement check isn't all that "little" and will more than cover all the wonderful expenses that you will have on that trip that you're dreaming of? ;D

Thanks Shoesy, He says that he is in semi-retirement. He is looking for jobs, but I don't lnow how active he is or will be. Golf season will be coming up, he has been getting his garden catalogs and I bet he can turn in to a real good "putzer"!
