Hi Everyone...
I am back home from my wonderful, fabulous, amazing ten day trip to Paris and wanted to leave a review here with regard to the great little apartment I stayed in.
I rented the "Studio Marais" on rue du Bourg-Tibourg thru Thierry at www.parisbestlodge.com.
Thierry was completely professional and immediate in his responses to all of my inquiries from beginning to end. Upon entering the apartment (third floor w/o lift - 60 narrow winding stairs - better than the stairmaster!) I found it to be EXACTLY as depicted in the photos on the website. It was clean as a whistle and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from my very own! There was plenty of closet space which was fronted by mirrors, which "enlarged" the otherwise small space. Although small, still bigger than most European hotel rooms, and perfectly functioning. It also came with a great washer/dryer combo that washed and dried all at once! (Where can I get one of those??!) One of the best amenities was the computer with DSL internet connection which is included in the price, with I might add an American keyboard, which allowed me the luxury of staying in touch with family back home as well as all of you, on a daily basis!
I absolutely fell in love with the location of this apartment in the heart of the completely charming, eclectic, alive Marais! It was just bounding with energy! Directly next door to the apt was a little convenience store and on the corner one of many boulangeries/patiseries in the area...not to mention the darling tree-lined square at the end of the street with a few bistros/cafes on it.
The proximity to the Hotel De Ville metro stop...serving lines 1 and 11 was only a short walk away (less than 5 mins for me)
as well as the Seine and Notre Dame, the I'l St. Louis...Place des Vosges, Picasso, Carnavalet, Pompidou only to name a few within no more than a 10 - 15 min walk away.
Thierry gave me instructions for entering in advance, as my arrival was quite early on Sat morning...and then upon calling him, we set up a convenient time for him to stop by to show me details of the apt...and to collect his payment (in full in Euros).
He was the most pleasant, the most caring, energetic man. Quite delightful!
I would not hesitate for a second to rent thru him again in what I hope to be the VERY NEAR FUTURE!!
