Last summer we needed a 3 bedrooms for 6 people which is very hard to find. www.regentsuites.com out of los angeles had a great selection. Not cheap, but nice. The local agency they were affiliated with in paris was www.parissimo.fr located on Motte Picquet in the 7th (where we stayed). Most people don't need anything that large, but if you do!

GitteK... The St. Georges is awesome! I have emailed them for spring of 2010. It appears that May June and July are already gone. Maybe they live there these 3 months? Any clue? I can change my dates for April. The apartment looks so nice! Are there any agent fees on this site?

hylasgirl, if you are referring to the apt. from PerfectlyParis, then no, there are no fees coming on top of the price you see in the website. Laidback can give you all the details about that apt. Remember, it must be rented for one month as a minimum. www.perfectlyparis.com/Enchanting%20St%20Georges.htmlI stayed around the corner (a little further north) from that apt. this September and my (and Laidback's too, I think) only real complaint about the area is the lack of really outstanding, prizewinning boulangeries. The agency is totally reliable and the agency boss Gail, is the sweetest, most serviceminded person, who'll hop on her tongue to help you. holger, another OPF member, will be staying in this one in March 2009: www.perfectlyparis.com/La%20Belle%20Epoque.html holger is the brains of OPF Senior lady and completely spunky anthropology professor. Walks with a cane, but that doesn't stop her from diving fearlessly into scary underground caves to ogle at tenthousand-years old caveman grafitti ! holger is crazy about foie gras, but otherwise sensible........ ;D

Thanks GitteK! I appreciate the response. I haven't heard from her yet but I hope to. I really really like this apartment on Perfectly Paris. What's not to like really... I am just concerned with attending school at the Alliance Francais, that we will be spending more time getting to school than if we stayed in the 5th or 6th. BUT, there sure are better prices if I get something in this area. Not only better prices, but better apartments. It is also worth a lot to find a place that is reliable.
Thanks again!

Hylasgirl, Gail is a pleasure to work with. Several of her apartments look wonderful. I am looking forward to next March and will post on returning.
Gitte, you forgot to add fabulously gorgeous to your litany of my qualities. But I will forgive the lapse.

hylasgirl: Paris is a very petite city, so going from the 9th arr. to the 6th arr. is not "spending a lot of time" - it's just one hop into the metro at St.Georges and directly down to Montparnasse, so don't let that scare you off.

GitteK... True true... You are so right. I have walked everywhere there. And exploring a new area would be great fun! I haven't heard back from the Gail yet?? How long would be appropriate to wait for an email? On another note, I was wondering if anyone knows... The St. Georges lists "free calls to most countries". Do you happen to know if the USA is one of them? This would probably seal the deal for me. Also, how do I get a hold of Laidback?
Thank you so much everyone! What a great place!!!

I hope that by now you have received my response by private message. The free calls to the U.S. are true, this is getting to be a popular`option and I am seeing more and more apts. with this feature. Gail is in NYC this week receiving an award from Condenast Traveler and that may have something to do with the lack of response as she is unfailingly prompt. Another possibility could be that your ISP blocks many European e-mails as does mine, necessitating your adding their e-mail address in your address book. I am presently staying in another of her apts. and if you try again with the above suggestion and there is no answer let me know as I know her associates also and will try to see if they have gotten your e-mails.

Great resource - but my head's already exploding with choices! Everytime an apartment seems like "the one," somebody from OPF shows another .. and another... what exquisite torture.

Hello Everyone! Wow, some gorgeous apartments! I spent months searching for a place to stay two summers ago and could have used that list then! We ended up finding one through fusac (under short term rentals):http://www.fusac.fr/en/ Another possible source is www.franglo.comIt was booked directly with the owner which saved a small fortune. We needed somewhere big enough for our family and the price of two good hotel rooms was scary! This is where we stayed and I can highly recommend it, especially for larger groups: parisvacationapartment.blogspot.com/I did notice that some apartments on agency websites could also sometimes be found on owner-direct listings such as VRBO or craigslist, giving you best of all both worlds: assurance that the place is legit and a cheaper price. Anyway, good luck if you're in the middle of apartment hunting...looking (and dreaming) is half the fun!

Hi again and thanks everyone for the welcome! Roniece, you just need to get a gang of 8 like-minded souls together...in the spring/fall that'd only be about $50 each per night! : )
