My sister and I are taking an impromptu trip to Paris in October. We have been looking at all the apartment rentals and have narrowed it down to these, and we have to give answers ASAP. We both have been to Paris before and have seen the must do attractions and will probably opt for some lesser knowns this time. The apartments are both nice, and close in price, although one of them has given a discounted rate. I would love to hear any advice that any of you have: www.vrbo.com/29405www.vrbo.com/147937

Ok I will start. We all have our preferences and althought there is nothing wrong with St-Germain I would definitely pick Le Marais. I think that Saint-Germain was great sixty years ago....(taking cover for upcoming attacks LOL)

Based on location I would make them a toss-up, but based on apartment layout I would take the one in St Germain, because each person would have a separate sleeping area and "real" bed (even though one is in a loft area).

Thanks Luc, I appreciate the input. I have not been to Le Marais which is why it is hard to make the decision.

I have to agree with Becky, although personally I don't care for Asian themed decor...but how much time do you spend looking at the decor? The sleeping arrangements would make me go for the 7eme.
And btw, LUCKY YOU!!!

Becky you are right about the extra bed being nice. Decisions, decisions!

I'm not sure which one I'd pick - I agree with Becky and Happy about the bed, but I think that I'd personally chose a neigborhood that I wanted to explore. So, do you have a preference there? (Me, I'd go with luc and choose the Marais)

Luc, Once we navigate our way out of the 6th I might be able to help out with questions such as this ;D So October 18th........Le Marais (a part from a side trip to the Bois de Boulogne for lunch - even following another poor review ) it is! A booking also awaits at Le Rouge Gorge!

I would agree with the ladies who say the extra bed would be nice, especially if one of you is a light sleeper.

The Marais apt. does not state which floor it is on and if there is an elevator. That may not concern you but it sure would impact my decision. The rue de Lille area is excellent!

Thank you all for your help. I love the look of both apartments. My sister and I made our decision for the one in Le Marais. I apreciate your input and will let you all know how it turns out. We will be arriving on October 26 for 1 week and we are very excited. The last time we were in Paris together was just after college (which is more years ago than I care to say). I have been back since but she has not. So now the fun of planning begins. By the way, if anyone has any interest in either of these apartments for future trips, both owners seemed very easy to work with.

When planning trips, there's always so much time to wait after the initial airfare/hotel (or apt) stuff is done. Yours and your sister's trip is so close. How fun!

Happy, you are so right. My sister wanted to go even earlier but the flights didn't work out. This is very spontaneous for me and I can hardly believe that we booked the flights and the apartment and we are set to go. I was there this summer so all of the planning that I did for that trip will be useful for this one. All that I have learned from this forum is really going to help too. We are both so excited we are like kids on Christmas morning!
