Hi all! We leave Thursday morning on our trip hitting Paris for the first day and then back after a week in Germany with a stop in Strasbourg on the way. I hope to be posting on our blog www.bmeurope2009.blogspot.ca nearly every day (that is the goal anyway!)and am currently working on putting up pictures of what I'm packing because so many people seem surprised that we only do carry on. I will also post here as well of course. So excited! (you probably guessed that !)

Yikes! I can't imagine going anywhere with just a carry-on. I always over-pack.......much too stressful trying to limit myself. Have a fabulous trip!!!

Shoesy, I tend to overpack too, but I limit it to one carry-on with a personal bag because, more stressful than limiting what I take, is the airline losing my luggage. We once sat in O'Hare for 4 hours waiting for our luggage, and it never did arrive. Thankfully, they did deliver it the next day. I also like being able to just leave the airplane, without a stop to pick up luggage :-)

My thoughts too Sandy. Air Canada lost my step father's luggage on a direct flight for Pete's sake! Where it really paid off for us was when we were leaving Paris during morning rush hour. Not only was the RER packed there was an issue with the train and after a couple of times of having long stops between stations we all had to get off at Gare de Nord and find our way to another track - it was CHAOS! So grateful to not have more than what I could easily carry needless to say. Guess we could take a cab if we packed more but I'm cheap And I must confess that I also love the challenge

I will show this post to Stella as she is apt to pack for all four seasons in a two week vacation. On the other hand, she may then decide that she needs a whole new wardrobe while in Paris so, the carry on idea is a no go for me I'm afraid.
Looking forward to the reports.

Thank you Belladonna. I realized that after I had written it and signed off. I am sure that Calgary in the winter is not the same as Paris but have fun any way. Freezing cold here in Ontario and had to scrape the car windows yesterday! Snow is forecast for tonight I believe.
