Don't you just love to see some inconsiderate driver who feels all the posted no parking signs dont apply to them get their just desserts! This was taken while enjoying a glass of Picpoul at the Select Café across from the renowned boulangerie Delmontel at the corner of Navarin and rue des Martyrs. After picking up this car the tow truck courteously drove around the block to allow blocked traffic to pass then proceeded to pick up the little gray car also audaciously parked right on top of the Livraison(delivery) designated area sign. This called for a 2nd glass of wine.

Ha! Merci , Laidback, for the most excellent photos/posts on this area! I love all your descriptions and photos....creating a virtual walk in Paris with you ! What a treat! I had to laugh at your last photo and the comeuppance of the unfortunate but naughty vehicle! ha! (and yes, cause for another glass of wine with the additional comeuppance!)

...and take a look at the cars in front - there is not enough space for a piece of paper to slide between them!

:)An exalt from me Laidback, because not only is your opportunistic photo of the tow truck and car hilarious ;D ;D but it has also drawn my attention to this thread, which I had more or less missed. Thanks again. Denise Love from England

The photo of the truck and car reminds me of the "chase" scene in "Johnny English" (not uniformly wonderful, but that scene certainly cracked me up!)

I always wondered how cars got towed when they were parked so close together that the tow truck couldn't get in up front or behind...

Click here for an old photo of the Square Montholon taken from the Daily Neuviéme. There is also an article on the middle eastern deli, Frères Heratchian that I posted on upthread, just follow the headings to the right of the featured article for a list of others. This is in French , but I posted it mainly for Holger who I think is fairly fluent.

I can probably pull together a few photos from past trips and maybe pull some from my website to create a smallish thread about Batignolles. I'll make a more concerted effort in July! Still patiently awaiting your effort. The Batignolles neighborhood is too picturesque to be ignored; If you will get it started I will try to flesh it out a bit. Does anyone recognize this facade? It is NOT in the 9th, but in the 17th.

Hi Annette, Happy to hear from you and hope all is well.
I just saw a trip report on Fodors from Nikki. She stayed in T's place and really liked there.
