Me, too! I always take the requisite toothpaste, mouthwash, make-up, hairbrush, cologne, and I love it when the flight attendants bring around warm wet wash cloths. But no amount of freshening up can substitute for a shower, which is what I'm longing for by the time I get off the flight. The grubbiness of the flight is worth it, though, because after arriving at the hotel and showering, there's no substitute for the great feeling of being clean and fresh and stepping out into a beautiful day in Paris!

That woman must be a frequent flyer because she's always on my flights from Israel to the States. ;D

Well, Here are a few of her tips... 1) Get wet! A spray vaporizor to spritz my face face from time to time throughout the flight, keeps my skin hydrated. Often follow that with a layer of face cream, but stop two hours before the end of the flight, so I don't look greasy. 2) Get in line! I do go to the washroom and brush my teeth. 3) The power of the right outfit. If I don't want to feel frumpy getting off a plane, I plan my wardrobe for the flight very carefully. It will often include a nice jacket that I stow in the upper bin until ready to de-plane, keeping it wrinkle free and out of my way until I am ready for it. I try to wear a nice sweater, because they don't wrinkle like a blouse and are dressier than Ts. 4) Travel light. Nothing makes you feel frumpier than hauling bags about, so a resonable size purse is all I bring. Bet you can come up with others.....

Love the bowing smilies. But why would Shoesy give up being God, to be President?

That's what I'm thinking, holger. God is WAY better than president. Talk about being exalted! I love the bowing people as well. You people are too clever...

Phread, those are some great suggestions. I've never tried the water spray, but it sounds very refreshing. I also think that for me, one of the keys is to limit what I eat. Although the arrival of the airline food relieves the boredom, I find that if I eat what they bring -- and they bring a LOT over the course of a long flight --- it makes me feel bloated because I'm just sitting and eating and sitting and eating and sitting and eating some more. So I've learned to turn down all the food except for perhaps a banana at breakfast time. Then I'm ready for crepes and macarons and mousse au chocolat and Berthillon! I'm also getting better about limiting what I carry on board. I used to have this mentality that I had to be like Boy Scout, armed with anything I could possibly need, but as I've gotten better at sleeping on the plane, I learned that I just don't need much stuff with me in the seat. And Phread, you're right...it's impossible to look or feel chic when you're lugging a bunch of bags.

I'm with you on this one Shoesy, I eat airplane food and find the variety and quality on AF acceptable. And yes I also anxiously await the little cart..out of boredom, curiousity whatever! I tend to wear fashionable knits, usually dark colors(for when the person in front reclines during meal time or the one next to me enters my space!) A nice handbag and a shoulder carry on. When my hair was longer I'd put it up during the flight and it would look okay after I shook it out. Now I tend to get that flat in spots look. Paris humidity tends to help that and it looks better by the time I get to the hotel! THAT woman these days tends to be younger and skinnier than I so I chalk it up to that!! Except for perhaps those perfect Parisien specimens that you have to deal with the whole time you are there anyway!

???You've all made me wonder something else. If we successfully ignore the airplane food all night and arrive hungry early Sunday morning, are there breakfast places open on Sunday?

I just thought we could use a nice President that appreciates shoes and ice cream, and will keep us out of trouble! Just a selfish wish on my part!

Goldenmama, we always head to a brasserie for an omelette upon arrival. Failing that, we go for a pain au raisins or pain au chocolat and a cafe creme. We've never had a problem finding plenty to eat! After some trial and error, it's now my habit to take the last flight out of Atlanta, so it's mid to late morning by the time I get into Paris.

:DOh Becky, you gave me a fright. My French is still a little shaky, as are my computer skills, so when I saw the words "madame" and "toilette" I had a horrible feeling that I had inadvertently posted something inappropriate! But now I get it! LOL
