Woo-hoo! I'm so glad Gitte took her computer along. I thought it was going to be quiet around here for a few weeks.

Golden, I am not sure that Gitte took a laptop, I think she is using an internet cafe, but it is indeed a real treat to be able to hear things as they are happening to her. Gitte, you make a great reporter and the things you do and say make me laugh, thanks for the updates. ;D

Gitte is posting from an internet cafe. She doesn't have a laptop. Let's face it........how can a person afford to buy a laptop if he/she keeps going to Paris several times a year? ;D

OH MY! Just one week out of this forum (exams ) and Gitte is in Paris!!!!!!!!! That´s great, I´m so happy for you and I really enjoy reading your "live" trip report! I´m also a little bit jealous but it´s less than 3 months for me so I can handle it. ;D

Shoesy, thank you for asking. Yes - I made it but I was sick of being closed at home and studying. Last one awaits me this Friday and than hurray - holiday (well, not exactly for working students, but everything is better than economics, right?) and I will finally concentrate on my upcoming trip to Paris in September.
Can´t wait another Gitte´s post. But I hope she´s having so much fun she doesn´t have any time to go online.

Actually, didn't GitteK say that her hotel has free internet (so maybe they have a computer in the lobby too?). I am picturing her posting sometimes before she leaves from or when she returns to her hotel? (that would be handy, if the case!) Well, hopefully she will clarify next time she deigns to glow to us!

Natalya is very sweet. She cleans our apartment and helps with guest checkin/checkout, too. I'm glad you reached a compromise with her, Gitte!

Cybee - Gitte was at that hotel for one night only. Yesterday she got the keys to her apt.

Thank you, Truff. This talking about Gitte is so much fun! It´s like discussing some kind of soap opera ... what is our heroine doing today?

Gitte - It is sooo funny for me being French to read your descriptions of France and French people . This reminds me of a very popular English book from Peter Mayle "A year in Provence" : a Gitte-style description of life in the South of France . All of you should read it, I am sure that you would hugely enjoy it even if it is not about Paris .
BTW, I must be very lucky but I promise you that after 42 years of living in and traveling through France I don't remember having EVER used a Turkish-style toilet . I swear it is true . Or maybe it is Gitte being very unlucky to have spotted one of the only ones in Paris ?....

I've had the "pleasure" of using a Turkish toilet, but not in Paris. It was in Thailand, and believe me.......it was one of those rare moments that I wished I could transform into a guy. ;D

Dear GitteK, Roving Reporter My god, do you not have enough sense to become a real life travel writer? I don't want to insult you for the work you do now and you may love it, but why can't you see that you are wasting your god given talents? Ever heard of FREE-LANCE?
