I did a post on quartiers with a lots of pictures and the content doesn't fit horizontally on the screen. I assume that one or more of the photos were not reduced adequately and caused this problem? Can it be retro-fixed and if the photo size is indeed the problem what do you recommend in the future?

Laidback, I don't know whether your problem comes from not-adequately reduced photos, but you may notice that a photo can be resized several times on Photobucket (but then only to smaller sizes, you can never go back to a bigger size unless you delete the photo from Photobucket and do the whole uploading again) . I don't know whether the link from the Photobucket photo to the forum must be reposted after resizing though ...

I'm pretty certain that when you change the size of a photo in Photobucket, it automatically changes in any post you have linked it to, because essentially you've posted the address for that picture location and not the picture itself. Does that make sense?

I believe you're right, Annette, and in the same way, if you remove a photo from photobucket it will disappear from everyplace that it was posted.

Another Photobucket question, which I thought of the other day just had not had time to ask.
If I set-up a picture in Photobucket that I captured/copied/linked (I don't know how it works) from My Pictures folder if I delete that picture from the folder does it delete/remove from Photobucket? Or does in make a copy/new URL(?)?

No, once the picture is uploaded on Photobucket, it doesn't have any link with your personal folder anymore .

Penny, once you have uploaded your pictures to Photobucket, it does not matter if you delete them from your own computer files. I have totally wiped out my computer before and thought that I had lost some favorite pictures, I recovered them again from Photobucket

I believe you're right, Annette, and in the same way, if you remove a photo from photobucket it will disappear from everyplace that it was posted. I am going to test that right now; I will delete the Coquilles from Photobucket and see if it disappears from my quartiers post.

I deleted the coquilles from photobucket but it still seems to be in my quartiers post?

Thanks, Andi, I was trying to clean up My Pictures, I haveat least five versions of my Avatar and wasn't sure which one was in Photobucket. LOL and was too lazy to test.

Laidback, if you talk about the pics on your Invalides posts, then they are still here indeed, which is really strange .
If you talk about other pics, then be aware that than they may only be here "for you" . I cannot explain why, but once I posted pics and then deleted them shortly afterwards from Photobucket (didn't know then that I shouldn't do that), and everybody was asking "where are your photos ?" and I could still see them on my post and couldn't understand why the other ones couldn't .

Laidback, once you have deleted the photos from Photobucket and head back here, make sure you refresh the page (obviously, of course I do, you say!) This makes what you are seeing, the most up to date information on the page. You should see a small red x in the corner where the picture once was. Not to make anyone sound silly here, it's just that lots of people use the "back" arrow or key, rather than new or forward pages.

Hi Andi, I successfully deleted the coquilles px. from photobucket, but even now after several refreshes and reboots it appears to be tenaciously hanging on to my post on quartiers No big problem, just curious.

No Andi, I had even turned down my computer in the meantime, yet the pictures still showed on my post . One of those technical mysteries ... Laidback, I suggest that you tell us exactly which pics you are talking about, and then we will be able to tell you whether WE can still see them on our computers .

Laidback/Anne....I have taken a look at the page where the photo was deleted, it was the picture below the great produce from Saxe Bruteille on page 2? On my computer there is a little red cross where it used to be. I am thinking it still shows for some of you because.........your computer has stored the image as a cookie or temporary Internet file, kind of like a footprint of where you have trodden. These little cookies and temp files stay on your computer until you clear them, they also make your computer run slowly, so it is wise to clean them up regularly. If it is ok with Truffy/Luc/Phread I will create a thread on how to keep your computer running nicely.

You are right, Andi ! I could still see all the pictures and then I cleaned my computer from cookies and temp internet files and now there is an empty frame with a little red cross just above the P'tit Troquet picture . You are our little computer wizard

Andi that did the trick! so I then modified the post to delete the blank space with the tiny red x.
now for another exalt, explain how I can get this one thread to not be so wide horizontally on my screen that I have to use the srawl bar at the bottom of the screen ;D
