Just for fun, I thought I'd post my favorite ads found in the metro this trip (lowbrow "arts & culture" ). These always made me smile when I passed them. And this last one...(appologies up front for such a bad shot, master Randy and protege Gitte!) ...I admit I wasn't able to translate it completely (and it's too blurry to read now that I'm home), so I hope I'm not violating any forum decency laws ...but this one made me chuckle and the kids on the metro always seemed interested in it.

The one with Santa being dragged by his beard made me chuckle out loud. I love that!

I love metro art and the advertising on bus stops! That was one disappoint on our trip..We were only in the metro about 3 times and you couldn't see the walls for the people waiting for the few trains that were running.

Annette, thank you for posting these! I loved the metro art as well...and took several shots myself - only of course, to have deleted them... so I am so happy to see these again!!

I enjoy the ad art too. Last trip George Clooney was all over with a Nesspresso machine! I remember one from years ago introducing a tiny cell phone by having it pictured next to a chick! Very clever! Never really liked the little Eiffel tower "hat" attached to the side of the head of a model for one of the big stores....

Never really liked the little Eiffel tower "hat" attached to the side of the head of a model for one of the big stores.... Oh yes, I remember that one! I didn't see it this time, maybe they've dropped that ad theme. Or maybe I didn't see it because I didn't pick up one of the free maps.

Yes, that silly Eiffel hat was everywhere for awhile. This thread will make me go through my pictures and look for more metro art. Thanks.

Funny, darcy. I was wondering if I should post my "slightly" risque metro art. Got another good one in London...actually 2!

Now that's what I call "risque". ;D
I think Happy should look for that guy and forget about old Sarko.

Problem is, Chouchou, that Happy would then obviously enjoy herself infinitely better than with Sarko, but then where would poor us spend our New Year Eve ? Unless of course the guy has other model mates looking quite like him, in which case we may not need the Elysee palace to have a gorgeous New Year Eve ;D ...

Yes, I guess I've totally forgotten about New Year's celebration at the palace. Well, I suppose it's back to Sarko, Happy. ;D

Woo hoo, I don't think I'd want to see Sarko posing for those ads! Yes, I think that happy would be happier spending NYE with those metro models. Oh, and Annette - I loved your ads too. I have to re-post this one of my hubby sitting in the Paris metro for those who may have missed it (I know that a lot of you have seen it so I'm sorry Our Paris old timers!) This was an ad for a movie called Dog Hot Dog - this poster was all over the metro last December... And the year before that there was one for a travel agency with these big bare feet with flip flop tan lines that was EVERYWHERE...I think I prefer Demarais' any day...

Someone else posted the rear view poster...and I loved it sooooo much I saved it! Thinking of having it made into a poster for my bedroom wall! There are advantages to living alone!
