I'm so glad you posted here - I'd much rather comment on this site than on TA.
I'm curious about your thoughts on the musée des arts forains. I liked it but wasn't enchanted by it like some others have described.
50 sleeps for me.

I know what you mean Janet! TA has really gotten ridiculous.
I really did enjoy Arts Forains but I wouldn't say I was enchanted. I am very glad we went while it was open to the public as opposed to just doing a tour when they only open a couple of rides and games. I think that would have gotten boring quickly.
I think it would be a very fun place to hold a private party or event though!

We went to the Forain on a Heritage day once..and I did find it lovely and enchanting..but I love that old fashioned stuff..like the ole Jersey shore and Tivoli in Copenhagen! Have you posted more on TA?

Thanks Shoesy!
Geordy, I'll probably finish the last day on the TA report later this afternoon since it looks like we'll be snowed in soon!

Okay Rachel..now I'm starving! Your NYE sounds delightful..good choice! Yes the seating at Theatre Chatelet upstairs has dreadful sight lines..but I was so enchanted with the show we saw there The Umbrellas of Cherbourg..that I didn't mind the necessary contortions too much! We are seeing one based on The Little Prince there this trip..not sure where our seats are! Will see An American in Paris here when it opens...Robert Fairchild is a NYCB favorite!
Reading your reports on snow day...and looking forward to getting to Paris soon! Making use of day at home for lists, research, and other pre-trip planning! (and dreaming!)

Hi Rachel! Loved your pictures, and am working my way thru your report on TA (and I agree on how ridiculous TA has become). We had the best-ever (for us, so far) lemon tart at La Patisserie across from the Musée du Mode entrance when we were there in November. It was a bar rather than your traditional round tart, but it was fabulous. Darryl and I are still dreaming about it. You'll have to try that one next time and let me know how it compares with your extensive research

Beautiful pictures Rachel. Sounds like you had pretty good luck with the weather.

Thanks everyone! Yes, the weather cooperated for the most part and even on the days when it rained, it was pretty warm. Geordy, the dancing in An American in Paris was magnificent. Can't wait to hear about the show you're seeing at Chatelet on your trip. What a beautiful theater! Annette, I have made a note of the patisserie for next trip. Oh, the things I do in the name of research!
