Well ,lunch was ,as expected,a delicious surprise.you don't get to select anything, except the wine and water. We started with kir royales(me and Marie) The first little plates brought out held a delicious fried oyster(I was not an oyster fan until today)a dish with pieces of jambon and an herb flavored cream-mayo consistency, fresh crusty bread and butter. Then we were presented with fresh green asparagus sitting in a tiny bit of a lobster bisque. The asparagus were topped with a sauté of green onions, and shallots. I just wanted to soak up the bisque with the bread, and I did. The main was a tender duckling breast,so tender and juicy, with bit of cauliflower purée They then brought out crispy duck legs to eat as well. The dessert was 3 fold. A dish of strawberries, sliced with some thyme flavored ice to start, then a little bit of a lemon cream, then a praline flavored cream to eat with a chocolate tart, well you had to cut that in half ,one tart per 2 people. Not that I could eat a whole one. We did have some good wine also. Then a coffee to end it all. Then out for a walk. Brrr...it's cold drizzly, windy, crazy for May.

That does sound delicious! I'm not a big asparagus person but with the bisque and onions......sounds good! Yes one day you have all these days to do all sorts of wonderful things...and then it's your last one in the blink of an eye..or a NYC minute!

I'm enjoying your report although the mekong/mango confusion made me laugh.
Aren't you the lucky one that has a husband who makes croissants. :-)

Friday morning we went to Le Petit Mitron,a boulangerie in th 12th. I had arranged a class through Meeting the French, for my husband to have a class with the baker. I went along to record it for him. Mia was our translator. The owner of this shop starts his day at 3:30 am,getting ready for a busy day of bread making. Bill learned lots of things he was doing wrong, and is now looking forward to getting home to perfect his skills. The owner was a charming funny guy and let everybody try things.(5 total in the class) Of course now my husbands wants a marble countertop to work his croissant dough.it has to be cold,so the butter doesn't melt. The baker brought out a block of professional butter, about 18 inches square.,which was broken into 4 sections and then pounded into the dough, folded over.He had come in 7th in the croissant competition last year, out of 200 some bakers. That means a croissant for me each day(not really)-and lots of exercise at Home. Just found the owners name,Didier Lavry After class we wanted to do some walking, though a rain shower made us pop into a cafe for a cafe and a salad.

Well,we are packing up to go home.😤😋,mixed emotions, anxious to see our son, still want to stay another week. Last night we ate at Terroir Parisian. We had a reservation for 7. The place quickly filled up,some were turned away. I had a melt in you mouth braised sole with duxelles. We shared a starter of escargots stuffed mushrooms, yunmmy. Bill had the fried fish, came out with its head still on.The waiter said that is to show it was fresh. It was lightly coated in some flavorful crumbs, then quickly fried, not at all greasy, served with some potatoes and quick fried parsley. There were only 2 servers and they were hopping all night.we did share a French toast style brioche with ice cream for dessert.we will return, thanks for the suggestion. Well,it is time to start planning trip #10
