Was it something different before? I guess I thought it was always Our Paris: Variations on a Theme. I apparently wasn't paying attention.

Hmmmm - not sure now - but I know that I always entered "Our Paris Forum" - guess Doug will have to tell us for sure.

See, Shoesy...this is what I was telling you about earlier and you just rolled your eyes and muttered, "the poor dear....fear she's gone just plain nuts!"...okay, you didn't really say that (precisely) (lol)...but now I see it is not just me. This e-site appears to be currently called "trauffaut.proboards.com". Once after this happened (had to use trauffaut...), I was able to get in via ourparisforum.com..but not lately!

I still get this proboards every time I try to come on. It is very irritating as there was no announcement other than a 2/28 posting by Doug about signing up for aps if desired. The current proboards indicates that the domain name has lapsed. It would be nice to have one of the moderators announce what is gong on.

Okay, not a moderator, but hope this helps: Proboards.com is the name of a website that hosts chat forums like this one -- it's free, although you can pay for various upgrades. There are hundreds of them -- the Any Port In A Storm that Kerouac2 and French_Mystique post to on TA is a Proboard site, too. The actual web address is http:\\truffaut.proboards.com -- that means that it's the forum set up by Truffaut (Doug) on the Proboards site. The actual address of the site is the truffaut address -- kind of like owning a house with a physical address. But you can, then, go out and buy a domain name -- ourparisforum.com -- that redirects to the physical address. Kind of like renting a PO Box to where you have all the mail delivered. All the mail (web traffic) that goes to that house (web address) is delivered to the PO box (domain name). The "Domain name expired" means that Doug hasn't paid to renew the contract for the PO Box (yet?)-- the forum still exists at the physical address, but the redirect isn't happening. It doesn't mean there's viruses -- its just an address issue. If you make a new bookmark with the truffaut address, all will continue as you're used to. (there've been a lot of issues with Proboard's internal operations of late that explain why typing ourparisforum.com got you the error message, but www.ourparisforum.com got you to the website, but it starts to get pretty technical....) (And I'm pretty sure the header has always been Our Paris: Variations on a Theme) Hope that helps.

I was unable to access OPF for several months but now that the domain name has changed I have no problem with it, just changed my bookmark to the new web address.

Hi, folks. like Redqueen I have been unable to access OPF for months. All I got was a message saying it had been contaminated by a virus. Just found out by accident on facebook that the domain had changed.
So nice to see I can access again via a different address.. and yes I have always thought it was our paris forum, variations on a theme.
Good to say hello to the regulars who are still posting, Shoesy, Sandy, Jody, Darcy, Sunshine, Holgar, Mez, Geordy,Annette. and some new faces too..... now need to catch up.

Hi
Really find this new set up very annoying. Every other time, I am listed as guest and have to resign in.
Am wondering if this is ever going to improve.

I'm having a problem with messages. More often than not, I'm told that the URL I'm looking for doesn't exist. All I'm doing is clicking on new message or inbox or outbox, nothing exotic.

Funny, when I log on with the new domain name (I had to click the "keep me logged in" button the first time), I haven't had any issues at all! Maybe it depends on what system you're running? Or the browser? I don't have a clue, but I hope we can all get it figured out!
