...from Paris , again!!! I have detailed most of my trip on my blog. see link below. These days, meeting up with people I have met here is an important part of my Paris visits. Planejane and I spent a good deal of time together. Friday at Flore with Phread was also lovely. The highlight of the trip was the Alvin Ailey Amercan Dance Company, at the Chatelet theatre. and the best meal was at Chez Imogen on rue Jean Pierre Timbauld. a crepe place which is usually booked out. denisefrombolton.blogspot.co.uk/Denise Love from England

Welcome back, Denise! I loved keeping up with your adventures on your blog. The concert sounded fabulous and the biking that you and Jane did still has me in awe.
One of the restaurants we went to with Seb in May was on rue Jean Pierre Timbault, Jeanne A. I remember seeing quite a few other places as we walked over ~ it's quite the area if you want to eat or drink, isn't it?
Hope to meet up with you in January and would also love to meet Phread at one point.
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!
Jo (who's on vacation in 9 hours!)

Jo, ya gonna be doing the Vacation Shuffle in 8 1/2 hours?? PS. Ya know Denise, this flying off to Paris every other day is getting *really* annoying to those of us not able to do likewise!

Looks like you had another wonderful visit - admire you and Jane for all that time on the bikes - looks like fun!

Jo we also ate lunch at JeanneA 42 Rue Jean Pierre Timbauld, when we arrived as it was recommended by the apartment owner. Lovely deli with great food. I also had lunch at Pearl, a few doors furthur up, with Sandy last November and that was very good too.
I am trying to think about a bad meal we had, but none come to mind, but I am not very sophisticated when it comes to food. We like places where we can see that the food is being cooked fresh and not microwaved.
Other places we ate were,
La Pharmacie, 22 Rue Jean Pierre Timbauld. 11th arrondissement.
La Cordonnerie 20, rue Saint-Roch 75001
Bistro le Chaland, paris 10 quai de Valmy 10th arrondissement. on the Canal St Martin, a great "local" cafe that I had eaten in before when I stayed on Rue Louis Blanc
Pho13 135 Avenue de Choisy Paris 13
The Panoramic restaurant at Chantilly racecourse.
La Fleur Sel in the centre of Provins.
Chez Michael in the apartment. Simple grilledsalmon and prawns with new potatoes and avocado and tomato sald from the Parmienter market.
Have a good trip Jo.
Just think of me as living in Paris, well next door, Shoesy and Happygoin, that helps with the envy.
I do hope you are all joking!

Exactly what Shoesy said! ;D We may be a little envious, but in a good way over your good fortune to be able to go to Paris so often. I, for one, know you have worked hard all your life and you are doing what you enjoy now, which is something everyone should strive for. Life is short, enjoy it as much as you can! We are off to a cottage on the shores of Lake Champlain in upstate NY tomorrow for a week with Danielle, Paul and the 2 grandsons. We have been taking Seb here for a week every year since he was born ~ he is really looking forward to it and so are we. Have a great weekend, everyone and Denise, Keep sharing with us. What do you think gets me through the PPD ;D Jo

Oh my word, Denise! Of course we're kidding! We're just pea green with envy is all and wishing we could be there wish you!
In fact, your going to Paris so much makes PPD a bit better, since your pictures and descriptions bring Paris closer.
Travel on!

Great report as usual. You've inspired me to try Velib. I now have a credit card with a chip, so I can try on my next trip.
Those pianos are great. Looks like they're an annual occurence so hopefully once of my future trip will coincide.
And I thought you looked very chic on your velib!

I am sure you will have a wonderful time, now it is my turn to be envious! We can't understand why we didn't book two weeks to be there for Bastille day, Fete Nationale today. But then again, however long you go for it is never enough! To everybody else..... Shoesy, Happy, Mossie, Geordie. JanetJ and Sandy Thanks for the positive feed back. Nice to know somebody is interested in my musings. Jo, I am sure you will have a wonderful weekend and appreciate your daughter and grandchildren. I know you want to be in Paris and it is really hard. Denise Love from Bolton.

Everyone on this board has to read Denise's latest post. Here are my thoughts on it: "The acceptance of eccentricity yet the intolerance of disrespect." Denise, I am in awe of this sentence (and this whole post). You are becoming a real writer in front of our eyes. This post speaks to me on so many levels ~ the joy of being IN Paris, the pain of knowing you have to leave and the aching need in your soul to just BE there. It's so hard to explain to those who don't have that yearning for Paris why it is the first thing you think of when you awake and the last thought in your head as you drift off to sleep. Beautiful, evocative thoughts..........thank you for sharing with us once again. Paris, je t'aime.... Jo

I am running behind in reading all the blogs I am subscribed to - yours included - but I did go and read this entry. Your thoughts put a smile on my face apart from the bit where you said no art galleries. I am doing very little planning for my next trip. The plan is just to walk around and soak it in.
