I can spell better than my posts suggest. This keyboard is really small and my fingers don't landwhere they should and I forget to reread

Perhaps the person whose job it is to ensure outfits are appropriate and there are no clashes amongst the royals had the day off?
I was impressed with Camilla's outfit at St Pauls Cathedral. She looked really good. Especially her hat.
Sometimes I wish it was more common to wear hats as it once was. I love hats!

I'm with you Mez. I love hats and when we lived in the north I had boxes full of them. All I have in Fl is a straw brimmed sun hat which I usually forget!

That was exactly the thought I had, Jody. It's cute, but I wouldn't have worn that to the Jubilee as a spectator, let alone as someone with a place at center stage! All I can figure is that there was some sort of strange mixup that left that as the only dress she had at the time. Weird. I have a "Champagne Dress" that S/O sent me once..he saw it in a Neiman Marcus catalogue while in transit. It is a sleeveless sheath as well...blac with champagne bottles and such..ind of evoking a Veuve Cliquot(my fav) bottle. I've worn it for local NY Eve's...and other friends and family celebratory fetes....but did not take to my Paris NYEs at the Opera houses! As to spelling Jody..I have a defective K..and sometimes forget to go back and carefully insert them...problematic cuz my last name contains 2! And hats...you've seen my hair ..don't do them now Hat head! But when younger with long hair..loved matching them to dresses for afternoon weddings and other fetes! And of course the obligatory Easter Bonnets and other Church hats bac in the day!

..."and other Church hats bac in the day!" there's that missing "K" again, geordy! I love hats too, and think women can look so sophisticated in them. Unfortunately I look silly in them. I think people are either hat people or they're not. I'm a "not"

Oh, HappyGoing...ha! I think I am like you in the hat department! I love hats! But I am afraid if I wore one of those fine dress hats, someone would quietly sidle up to me all concerned and whisper, "um..Cybee...there is something perched on your head!"...ha!

Cybee, we're going to a wedding in the Loire next month, and friends and acquaintances have recommended I at least have a hat to wear (and see if the other guests are wearing one, as it can go either way) --
I tried on dozens of jaw-droppingly expensive little combs and fascinators and perchers -- and mostly just looked like I had some sort of exotic fungus growing out of my head.
I settled on a pink straw hat that was affordable, and to which I'm adding ribbon and silk flowers to match my dress. After the wedding, it will most likely go to my friend's 9-year-old daughter, as it will match her pink princess dress.
