AnneParis,
I love your Buche de Noel! I made a simple chocolate one for Christmas with meringue mushrooms and a sprinkling of snow (confectioner's sugar). Was so proud of myself and then I saw yours - I love your buche. So glad ours had been consumed before clicking on your blog. Thought I was looking at one of Pierre Herme's work. My compliments and hope someday (may have to wait forever), I can create one close to it!

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a buche de noel this season. A vendor sent 4 to my husband's office, complete with mushrooms! My kids had learned all about the tradition in their french lessons, but I didn't know anyone made them locally! Well, to my suprise it was quite good. It was coffee flavored. Now I know for next year.
