It's funny to think that the first activity you engaged in when you got to Paris was laundry. Well, at least it didn't prevent you from having something to eat while you were waiting for your clothes to be washed. ;D Glad to hear you enjoyed the much talked about Le Bistro des Gastronomes. I wish I could see their menu.

Wednesday 28th
Love the Petit Palais and visit it every trip so set off and I thought I had the bus routes figured out. Got off at the D’orsay and could not find the stop for the bus we needed but saw there as another bus right st the stop , the Bb that goes to La Defense and at the end of Pont Alexander. Waited and waited and it was not even announced on the little board that tells when each bus is approaching. Decided to take the bus that goes to Champs de Mar and walk the rest. Didn’t realize the stop was so far up the Champs so ended up with a LONG walk. Loads of people photographing the bridge and I don’t blame them it is so darn pretty. Checked out the Grand Palais first but nothing seemed open at the temp. exhibit entrance the the main entrance was a fleet of vans unloading something. So went across to the Petit. I love the collection and the interior garden. So spenta lot of time, passed on the temp. exhibit as it did not interst us. Walked over to Champs Elysee and window licked for awhile before heading back to our neighborhood. Stoppen for some more money and a glass of wine on a terrasse and enjoyed the scene! Short rest then cleaned up for dinner. Had read good things about a new place called Le Tournebivre on Quai de Tournelles so started off to walk there, not too far.The menu did not interest either of us though the place looks nice. So decided to head to an old favorite and the site of a few GTGS, Le Reminet.Warmly greeted by the gray haired maitre named Michel I think, who seemed to recognize us though I don’t know how. Dinner as always was excellent. Lamb shoulder for me and scallops with black rice for D. Also finished with their wonderful crème brulees!!Walke dup to Blvd St Germain and took the bus back to Rue cardinal Lemoine for the short walk back to the hotel. Our room was noisy because I like a window open and the weather was so warm but I slept thru most of it except the noisy drunks! Next time will ask for an interior room though I love the little balconey.

Glad you enjoyed the Bistro des Gastronomes....I loved that foie gras ! I hope the rest of the Spring and summer bring them more business..as they weren't busy when we were there either..though it was a week night in Feb. But I worry about the location....maybe when it is light later... We've had that happen too...excited about going to a certain place and then when checking out the menu nothing calls to you..good you had a plan B!
