Gitte; I'll have that meal with the pork and cracklings please. My mother-in-law taught me how to make cracklings because my husband loves crackling cookies. Ahh, what we do for love! s

Just as a comparison with Gitte's prices, I checked the cost here while I was at the grocer's yesterday. Our prices were sure lower!
7# whole duck..$12.00 pkg. of 4 whole quail...$6.99 1/2 rabbit , cut in pieces..$11.59..I thought that was a bit high cooked 1/2 duck with orange sauce...$6.99
I have to admit that I usually buy the cooked ones, they are a bit too well done for my DH but okay for me. It beats cooking!

I looked at the grocery store today also and we have no duck Quail or rabbit. The butcher says that we get the duck in during the holiday season and Whole Foods (organic market) stocks them in the fall, but they "aren't big sellers" according to the butcher. The butcher also has the rabbit during the fall. S
