Sounds like you all had such nice trips--thanks for filling us in on your comings and goings! I took my kids to the Breakfast in America that is a quick walk from our place in the 5th last January, and it seemed to be a very popular spot with the French. I assumed it was going to be packed with expats and tourists, but the considerable line outside waiting when we left seemed to be locals out for a weekend treat.

most recent hotel is right next door to BIA and we still have not tried it. Almost always a line outside and an almond crossiant is always calling my name! Well obviously the best time to go in 09.30 on Sunday morning. Six of us waltzed in and sat around the bar in the centre. When we came out an hour or so later they were queueing up the street. You can't beat a good fry up and a bottomless cofee or juice pot! Denise Love from England

Geordy, Jazz Me will be running in Jan. and Feb. and they are adding 2 shows. So, instead of just Sunday evenings, you can go on Saturday or either Friday or Monday, not sure which. Tickets are not available online now but they will be soon thru the usual sources: fnac, billetreduc, theatreonline and at the theatre's website (Les Feux de la Rampe).
I loved the show and I play the CD all the time, singing along. I sat in the front row and thought it was great. Yes, she has a big, sexy voice, but I enjoyed it from my front row seat. I'm not sure I've ever heard jazz or blues with an "orchestra," per se -- yes, a combo with piano and bass -- but I thought the pianist was terrific and it was a really good performance and fun evening.

I'm looking forward to Jazz Me, Mary--especially after hearing the songs of hers you emailed to me. She has an amazing voice, and I think it's going to be a fun show! Thanks for bringing it to our attention ;D

Sandy, I bought one in Paris but you can download it via Amazon. I can ask Lucy if she is going to have the CD available for purchase online in the future and will let you know.

I'll be posting my Paris trip report soon! I am long overdue on this (October), but had a wonderful time...including the Salon du Chocolat!

So nice reading this thread again. So many people meeting up on the same trip and then posting about their own experiences of it from their point of view.
All made possible by OPF. This was one of the most enjoyable trips I've had, because I could do my own thing but meet up with other like minded people from different countries.
A really unique experience. I feel so lucky that I have met so many "real" ( as in physically real) friends through social networking sites, which often get a bad press but this hows how social networking can act in a positive way.
Look forward to your report Matt.
Love Denise
