Hi everyone. I am sending out a warning about USAParis. This is the rental company we used for our trip in May. We have had nothing but problems getting the $500 deposit sent back. The contract said we would have it in the bank 10 days after leaving the apartment. When we called after 15 days to ask what was going on the person on the phone tried to tell us that we had to wait 30 days. So now we are 36 days and they are trying to tell us that they are sending a cheque and the mail strike here in Canada is the problem. Whatever . We have filed a complaint with BBB - they are a member and that was one of the reasons we chose to deal with them funnily enough.

Thanksfor the info. I normally only use Vacation in Paris because the only security deposit you pay is for the key, $150.00. They have always returned it to me as soon as they get the key back when we return home.
They do not charge a breakage deposit , you buy an insurance policy. I think it runs around $25,00

Thanks Jody that's encouraging. I have been checking out the ViP site for next time - 'cause you know, 26 months is just around the corner and I don't want to repeat this experience!

Belladonna, I too am a fan of VIP. I keep finding these swell-looking apartments on VRBO and other sites, that I think I'd like to stay at, and then I always end up with VIP. It's just too easy, knowing there won't be any disappointing surprises. Most of their apartments wouldn't be considered luxurious, although some are, but they're always clean, a good value, and exactly what's offered...no embellishments that disappoint when you walk in the door.
I would also think that in this time of open communications, vacation apartment rental companies would be wary of having disillusioned customers out there to fill the internet with bad press. I'm sorry you're having a bad time with USAParis but thanks for the warning.

My wife and I also have not received our deposit back. We booked 3P_Bourdonnais from Sept. 1 thru Sept. 16 and it is now Nov. 5 and nothing despite 4 phone calls, three emails and numerous chats online.

My sympathies tgbart ! I think getting the BBB involved helped move things along for us but it took me some digging to come up with the company name they are registered under because it is not USAParis. If I remember correctly I did a google search of their street address and somehow found the parent company name and website. I went on TA and gave poor review of USAParis and was so surprised to see that I was the only negative review - everyone else was so positive weird. I will search through my e-mails and see if I have anything useful to forward to you. My fingers are crossed for you

Usaparis, connected with imarketers and homeintown ltd are part of a fraudulent circle. Not only was the property which I rented at a cost of close to $500 a night in paris not as it was advertised (it’s supposed to be a 2 bedroom but the stairs to the upstairs “room” was in the first room – and the open shower was in the first room as well so there is no privacy at all, be it sleeping or showering). But that is not the point of this note. The point is that they are a fraud – and they do it by keeping your security deposit. I had to send a check in for the amount of $500, which was to be refunded to me after the stay. I didn’t read the fine print, which was my fault, but it takes them 30 days to refund the check. I waited over 30 days and there was no refund so I told them I would write poor reviews about them online and they pointed me to the terms and conditions – which were on the their website – saying that I would breach the agreement if I complained. They then said it’s ok for them to keep my security deposit bc I complained about not getting it back and called them too many times. The only reason I called was bc I didn’t get it back after 30 days. Their response was, “We are busy.” They couldn’t even give me an estimate as to when I should expect my refund. Just based on these terms alone, I should have known it was a fraud – no company keeps your security deposit for 30 days after the check out date and no company forces you to accept terms such as “no complaints” – I would stay away from this company no matter how great the deal appears to be or how much of a discount they offer. There are so many other companies out there.
I also noticed that they use other names on tripadvisor to “credit” themselves – the same “angry” tone is used multiple times.

Wow! I had no idea we were so fortunate to get our deposit back - late though it was. Our contract clearly said 10 days for the return of the deposit and I can honestly say if it had said 30 I wouldn't have thought too much about it but your right Gracylee - it is fishy.
