I suppose we are relatively lucky ;D A drive across La Manche, take a left out of Calais and quickly down to Reims. Stock up at a small producer (Yves Delozanne) in a village on La Route de Champagne, Serzy-et-Prin, and a good meal in the village auberge. What could be better?

Ian you are indeed very lucky!! I didn't have champagne shipped but while staying in Beaune was seduced by the "ease" of having 2 cases(actually 4 half cases) shipped back to the USA! Trust me getting it from JFK customs was not exactly easy! But in the end...worth it! Won't do it again though, without a friend with a car who lived near the airport the wine might still be there!
