I'll make a note of Epicerie Bruno, Sunshine--I plan to make a Mexican meal for some friends in Paris one of these trips. Thanks for the heads up!

So how many of us made Gratin Dauphinois for Christmas dinner? I added a grating of fresh nutmeg and a dash of Cayenne pepper to mine and they were tasty... Diet starts tomorrow.

I made them. They turned out great and were easy to make. I added the nutmeg as well - next time I would add more.
I used cream - next time I'll use half and half.
Yes, diet starts tomorrow. Or the next day...

More years ago than I care to remember we used to frquent a bar which had a large notice on the back wall saying "Free drinks tomorrow" So when you casually stroll in the next day and ask for your free drink, the barman just points at the notice.

Janet, No expert on this dish (except eating it! ;D) so I'll leave the critique to others but exalt you for putting it in your menu! *: What's the rest and what time is dinner? ;D Thanks for sharing such delectable and easy to make recipe. This is an excellent dish for a Valentine dinner for me and my husband and 2 children. I am thinking of serving it with buffalo fillet, wild mushroom, green beans, onion or pancetta casserole as well as caramelized pears topped with cranberry or port sauce. Sounds perfect, is not it?

Hello Scarlet, and welcome to the forum! Your menu sounds wonderful. What time will you be serving dinner, so I'm sure not to be late? My local Whole Foods carries buffalo meat. I've always meant to try it, but usually something else catches my eye and I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's very lean, isn't it? Supposed to be a better alternative than beef, I think.
