I prefer not to ruin foie gras that way.

Well, it is obviously "bloc de foie gras", the lowest quality foie gras. I once saw on TV how this cheap stuff is made : it's a totally industrial process where the foies which aren't good enough to be used for higher quality foie gras are thrown in a kind of huge mixer with the seasonning (including some seasonning which is forbidden in "real" foie gras) and then the outcome is a totally disgusting clear-brownish liquid paste that a pipe pours into tin boxes on the chain. That was gross, and I've never eaten bloc de foie gras anymore after seing this program. Considering the cost of real foie gras and the selling price of this burger, the foie gras on this burger cannot be anything else than bloc, and frankly Kerouac, a bloc IMO goes well in terms of quality with a burger by Quick .

Nothing I've ever tried at Quick has been edible, so there's no way I'd even bother to try this one.

I'm with Kerouac on this one but if one really has to have foie gras in their hamburger, Joel Robuchon serves them. There is also a place here in San Francisco that does. I would still take mine in its pure form, mi-cuit or foie gras chaud.

Actually I am glad I saw the article. I always order some for David as one of his Christmas presents. D'Artagnan has individually wrapped slices thatcook in a few seconds

Jody - D'Artagnan is so reliable. One can buy all kinds of products that can please us pending the next trip to Paris!! We can buy the locally raised f-g here but somehow it does not taste the same as the Parisian ones. The domestic ones that come from the East Coast has better texture, though!

I have to say the photo of the burger does not look that appealing..and fast food photos always look better than the real thing! But if I were there for 5 Euros I might give it a whirl! Yesterday's stuffing at Jacques Brasserie was made with foie gras..absolutely delicious! Ate every scrumptious bite,,but did bring home some turkey for today! ;D And totally agree about D'Artagnan!

It is interesting that the quality of the burgers at McDonalds in Paris is far superior to the absolute rubbish that is now served up in Uk McDO's....maybe the French will still not accept such inferior quality, even if they DO get a free toy!
And then there is the PROPER burgers,......real minced steak with herbs and proper French bread, freshly made chunky chips and the ubiquitous salad with dressing, we had at a cafe in the Marche au Puces in May.
