mossie - As you may have guessed, all the people in France live in cities. There are no people in the countryside and the villages are just there to provide charm for tourists like me.
Jody - No, I actually just lost consciousness for no apparent reason (the doctors are looking into it) and fell face first onto a cobblestone sidewalk. I spent three days in the hospital and was in very good care with a very good team of surgeons.

Wow! Thank you everyone for the get well wishes. It was indeed a serious accident but I seem to get better each day. Today I actually look back to normal (if I don't open my mouth), with only swelling in my chin where there is a metal plate. I know I must appear normal to others because my wife told me she was sad that she couldn't make fun of me for looking ridiculous anymore. I still have soreness, and will for a while, and a mouth that makes me look like Hannibal Lecter but hopefully I'll at least be able to eat solid food after my check-up this Monday.

The only negative recently is that I severely fractured my jaw (split it in two halves at the chin) and I'll have a mouth full of wires and metal for the next 45 days, as well as some permanent metal plates attached to my jaw. But other than that I'm still the same old FMT. Ouch! That sounds incredibly painful. I am glad to hear you are on the mend, though.

mez and lilia - I am doing just fine, thank you. I saw the doc's yesterday and they said they had never seen anyone heal as fast as I had and have the range of motion in their jaw with an injury like mine. I got the elastic off my jaw and I can slowly start are eating solid (but soft) food again. The wires and other metal comes out of my mouth in another 2-3 weeks and then I can work on getting dental work done. Feeling pretty good today.
Lilia - VĂ©ronique says hello back to you. I forgot your husbands name (please remind me) but tell him we say hello. He is quite a lot of fun!
