Someday, I'm sure that FMT will honor us with a truly different report to show the other side of such villages. I am imagining a title like "Cycling through the sleet in Picardy" maybe around the end of January...? Then people won't be so jealous about not having been on the road with him!

Shoesy - I too have already forgotten all the names of those little towns. I'm pretty sure any people I saw along the way were actually robots designed to resemble people. Only the cities in France are populated with humans. As you can see, I've got the proof.
I'm building up a little backlog of bike trip reports I need to write as I've recently ridden to (and have yet to write about) Chartres and Compiègne and tomorrow I'm riding to Fontainebleau. I hope I can continue to brighten your mornings and a big merci for your exalt.
kerouac - FMT is keenly aware that his trip report viewing audience will only remain jealous as long as the skies are blue and sunny and flowers are in bloom. And there is no other side to those villages. They are all fabulous (except for any town named Paroy).

Oh, I was thinking "there is no other side" as in "two dimensional"! A lot of them are one street towns. If you turn right or left, no village!

So far no one has figured that out. I'm afraid you've just given away one of my secrets. Cute and charming in some of these places only exists straight ahead, not to the sides.
