:)Ok, so you all know I am a philestine when it comes to food but I would like to book a nice meal in a restaurant/cafe with a view

Decent food that won't break the bank, say 50 euros max budget for set lunch or two course evening meal, no wine.

I did lunch at Tour Montparnasse last year and the experience was wonderful because of the view, the food was enjoyable but not the best but it didn't matter. I would like somewhere different this time.

Any ideas?

I have doubts whether this enters the "nice meal" category, but the view at pizza Milano (formerly Marzano) is stunning, especially at night. You must ask for the 1st floor and Notre-Dame view.



I warn you, there is nothing gastronomical here, the pizzeria is very big and quite cheap, that's why it is very popular with large groups of students. That's how my eldest daughter discovered it, and she loved the view so much that she took her visiting younger sister there last week-end.

The hands-down winner in that category is Les Ombres perched atop the Musee du Quai Branly (nearly directly underneath the Tour Eiffel). The ambiance is top-notch and the food is really very, very good. The set lunch is 38/24 euros for 3/2 courses without wine or beverages. Dinners are 90 euros. The lunch is an absolute steal and I don't think there's a restaurant in Paris that has a more sublime view. The lunch crowd is the business-sort, so the service isn't overly fussy. Reservations are essential.

How about that place (Lebanese ?) on the square at the top of Parc de Belleville, where we went after the vendange ? Can't get a better view than that !
