Hi, Annette! On a closer read, yes, there I see it, "[t]he separate very quiet bedroom on the courtyard side of the buil[d]ing." Well, so it was a scheduling confusion and not an eleventh hour decision by the owner. Ah. That does seem less egregious. You will probably bond with this new apartment (find its charm/ enjoy its light and space) ! I suspect that you will love your stay on the Isle St. Louis regardless !

Update--We were given 2 other apartments to choose from, and liked Lilas the best, so Lilas it is! I should have trusted their initial recommendation. It will be very nice, and I'm trying not to look back. Hubby is all packed! I better get moving...

Annette - I'm so glad that you're feeling a lot better about that apt. Enjoy packing. I'm sure I'm going to stress a bit when it's my turn to select my wardrobe for my trip. Why oh why can't the weather in Paris be predictable?

I know Shoesy, it's driving me nuts! Yes, I plan layers, but I don't want to take up too much room with lots of warm layers if I don't need them. Jo said one day last week it was cold and she was glad to have her gloves and turtlenecks along....and now it's roasting?! Talk about unpredictable weather! Guess we'll just have to go shopping if the weather doesn't play fair, right Shoes?

You never can rely on settled weather at this, or any other, time of year. So layers are the answer. If you haven't got the correct dress when you arrive I believe there are one or two ladies clothes shops scattered round the city

I find a lightwoven cashmere sweater fit the uncertain days and was attractive enough to dine in a good restaurant.
