Denise, try and imagine PayPal as a purse. Money can go in, money can go out - but nothing happens to the money while it stays in the purse, i.e. no interest credited or anything. If you receive money into "the purse" (as I did from you for the theatre ticket) it simply stays in my PayPal account, untill I decide to move it to my bank or to use it for some other PayPal payment. E.g. the money I received from you, Sandy and Anne was used as part payment of the balance of the rent for my May vacation studio. BTW, it never pays to move the money to your bank, because the exchange rate PayPal gives, is not very attractive. Of course not, that's their means of income - as it is otherwise free of charge for private users. As to adding credit card: * You open your PayPal * Find the word "Profile" in the second row from above * Choose "Add or Edit credit card" * Choose the box saying "Add a Card" * Fill out the information boxes and click on "Add card" (I mean you can now tick it off as "primary") Then I would delete the bank account as payment means, if you have no speciel preference for that. Each month you receive your credit card statement from your bank, the PayPal transactions are shown. Remember to "verify" your account, you will receive an email about that from PayPal. The "verify" code, 4 digits, will appear in your bank statement one of the following months.

Hi Denise
Thanks for the great review of the Centreparis apartment. We generally rent direct from owners but Centreparis seem really good value for money so found this very interesting.
Unfortunately, the key pick-up arrangement would definitely be an issue for us when travelling 'en famille'. I have ridden the RER from CDG with a pushchair strapped to my back, a baby in one hand and a suitcase in the other no problems but I wouldn't want to add an extra journey into the equation! ;D

:)I have just made a payment through paypal via credit card and voila! instant payment.
I have a personal ( as opposed to business) paypal account and the bank account is verified, but that explains why it takes so long for funds to be completed when previously the funds have come out of my bank account.
Denise love from England

Just a little update. Because for whatever reason my work didn't pay staff wages until today (uh oh) I only managed to book the apartment today. And so sadly, it's not the original choice of Villa St Michel. However, David had an apartment still available in the 12th for the dates I needed and I got it slightly cheaper as well, so I am happy . First time apartment living in Paris! Hopefully it's a sign of my future, on a more permanent basis!

Thanks! I'm sure we'll love living in an apartment this time as opposed to a hotel. We leave on Wednesday for 5 days - the pre-Paris excitement has really set in now!

We're all very familiar with that pre-Paris excitement. Just wait 'till you're there............
