this is easier than explaining how to find posts , so I have just attached links to threads. Jazz ( and others) here are a couple of links on information on inserting photo and creating avatars. Pictures have to be on your hard drive. You may be able to post from "digital" but I don't know how. I think Gitte and a couple of others know the ins and outs of that. ourparisforum.com/index.cgi?board=technical&action=display&thread=1837ourparisforum.com/index.cgi?board=technical&action=display&thread=696scroll down to Andi's reply -------------------- Jazz- If your name is because you are into jazz then here are a couple of pictures you may interested in for avatar They can be made smaller when you inserted into profile for avatar. a couple of things have changed on Photobucket so reply if you have further questions.

Penny, thanks for posting these in one place - I'm sure that the more recent members will find it very helpful (sometimes we forget what it's like, as many of us were here when there are only a tiny fraction of the current total posts).

Thank you Penny! When I have more time to focus, I will read through these threads. I am the last of the luddites and have only been on computer for only 4 years. Essentially I email, explore endlessly online and write in Word. I also spend hours looking at photos on google image and have the most complex system of photo folders. Last night was an exciting breakthrough for me when I posted my first photo...without humiliating myself too much, I confess that it was the first time that I had ever 'cut and pasted'.
Thank you for the suggested avatars, I am thinking what to do. I love jazz, but it wasn't essentially why I chose the name. I simply loved the 'sense' of it. I once knew a man named Jazz and I was drawn to the feeling of his name.

Hi Geordy! Sorry about the weather and your technical forum problems, but if it makes you feel any better, I no longer get a pop-up alert box when I receive a P.M. According to my "preferences" when I click on "messages", I should be getting it as I did in the past, but that no longer happens. BTW, it is 3:00 A.m. here, and I can't fall asleep so I too am in a lousy mood.

Can you guys work the search feature? That part hasn't been working for me for a few months. I had a problem with my avatar awhile back too Geordy. Well, I could see it, but I guess other people couldn't. But I can't see yours either Geordy, so not the same problem I had. But it magically fixed itself after a day or two, so maybe yours will reappear soon! Sorry for the jet lag, Shoesy!
