Yes, I understood what you meant Anne It is only that even with the existing system of choices at the end of 3eme, I still don't understand them fully. I figure someone will explain them all to me towards the end or middle of 3eme as the time grows nearer. My daughter won't have the option of taking the Science or Math avenue as these are not her best subjects. Unless things change dramatically, she will be forced to follow the Literary / Language type avenue as this is her strong force. I have so many other things to worry about, I'll have to let this one wait until the time comes. ;D

I've double-checked, and yes, school is 8.30 - 4.15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 8.30-11.30 on Wednesday, with Wednesday afternoon for extracurriculars. No Saturday classes at all! (I also read the menu for this week -- I sure never ate that well when I was in school!) Friday's Menu: Starters: Radis beurre, Macedoine mayonnaise, ou oeuf dur a nid. Main: Merguez, Cassolet du poisson au legumes (wait...is that tuna casserole? ) Legumes couscous, semoule Fromage: Cantal, Rondele nature, Yaourt, Petit Suisse, Fromage Blanc Dessert: Maestro Chocolat (what is THAT!), Compote pommes-framboises (yum), ou fruits de saison. I think I'll see if I can eat lunch with him every day!

Sunshine, that's a beautiful menu for Friday. I remember when mine went to Saint Pierre du Chaillot (primary grades), they hated their lunches especially on Fridays, said they have the worst cook in all of Paris. They were so happy when they have to go to Classe Verte in the Ile de Noirmoutier. The cook was left to cook for the other students who were left at home.

Sunshine, there is something strange with this school schedule, since the legal weekly schedule for primary schools is now 24 hours per week, while your school schedule is about 3 hours more even after deduction of lunch time . www.education.gouv.fr/bo/2008/hs3/MENE0813208A.htmActually, I think that your schedule does include the remediation hours for kids with difficulties . Keep me posted, I am curious about this .
