Hi everyone, My little boy has just broken out in spots. The pediatrician thinks it's just a heat rash but to be kept under observation. I have been worrying about all the wrong things, LOL.

Go to www.weather.com and enter your city, or the closet large city. Then you will see a map for part of UK and Europe. Thank you so much! This is a great site.

Laidback, loved the photographs fromthe Marie Antoinette exhibition. This review:http://www.paris-update.com/art/marie_antoinette.htm is what made me want to go and see it, but I haven't been able to confirm if it's being extended. The rmn site says nothing so I suppose it will close as scheduled :-(

As always the posts on this cite are great advice. I second the idea of going to Luxembourg Gardens while at the Pantheon. You will find all sorts of fabolous areas there...you might even want to take a picnic as there are many benches in shaded areas. Your itinerary sounds great. Youmight want to take a bit more time at Invalides to go through some of theexhibits in the museum area. There are wonderful exhibilts related to war and especially World War II that my husband and I both enjoyed. Becky's advice to go to thetop of the Arc de Triomphe is right on. The view is breathtaking. If you are into museums, try the Musee Marmottan in the 16th. There is a great exhibit of Monets in the basement. This will also put in the area near two of the Max Mara shops. For what it's worth, a neighbor went to the Marie Antoinette exhibit and loved it. She just walked up, bought a ticket and went in. No wait at all. Have a great time!

I had to redo the itinerary because there were just too many changes. How does it look? Day one (Sunday) Arrive at Orly by Easyjet, transfer to Hotel Louvre Marsollier Opera. Dinner at Chez Flottes. Day two (Monday) The Louvre, with a snack at Café Marly, Musee de l’Orangerie, various Jardins. No dinner – I decided to cancel Goumard since I’ve suddenly gone off seafood and my husband has never liked it, no substitute yet. Day three (Tuesday) Musee Rodin, Les Invalides, lunch at Le Florimond. No dinner. Starvation (HAH!) is good for the soul. {The gap in the afternoon could be filled by a short ;-) visit to the new Max Mara shop on Rue St. Honore’ (Thank you Anne!)} Day four (Wednesday) Notre Dame, Ste Chapelle and the Pantheon, a snack somewhere (where ) Back to the Louvre for a short visit, Opera Garnier for the ballet, dinner at Le Grand Café. Day five (Thursday) Musee D’Orsay, walk to the Eiffel Tower, metro to the Arc de Triomphe and walk back along the Champs Elysees, stopping at Laduree for a snack and to buy macarons. Dinner at Le Vaudeville. Day six (Friday) Shopping , lunch at the Galeries Lafayette. Dinner at Chez Georges on Rue du Mail. Day seven (Saturday) Short, hopefully not weepy, walk and then travel back to Italy. All comments welcome. Merci beaucoup!

Perhaps the snack on day 4 could be Herme'? It looks walkable from Ste Chapelle, if I change the order of visits and start with the Pantheon, then Notre Dame and then Ste Chapelle.

This looks like a great trip - I'm envious! One thing, almost all distances in Paris (except perhaps up to Sacre Coeur, or other more distant locations) are pretty easily walkable. I would expect you will find that unless carrying a lot (those Max Mara bags do weigh quite a bit) you will often just skip the Metro and walk. Most of the things you want to see are maybe a 10 to 15 minute walk apart, or less.

I'm so glad to hear that, I am hoping to walk everywhere, so that I can see everything and breathe the wonderful Paris air. Max Mara bags are likely to be heavy, after all the sales have started ;-), but you just sling them over your shoulder and think that you are a pack mule... I think we're dropping the Pantheon, my husband complained bitterly that Westminster Abbey was a just a lot of tombs, LOL, and when I told him yesterday that the Pantheon has them too I discovered that he wanted to go there to see Foucault's pendulum. Which is not there any more. 2 1/2 days to go :-)

About the Pantheon - the view from the top is really great, and a completely different perspective over Paris. But, you can't do everything!
