My new situation is that our departure from CDG is at 10:20AM on a Monday. I'm staying very near the St. Michel metro stop, and am wondering how early the RER starts (is it the same as the metro?) and what time that is.
Also, may I have opinions on how early we need to leave to maintain a non-stressful departure from Paris, please. Thanks in advance.

According to the RATP website, the first RER to CDG departs at 5.24 am from St Michel station, every day of the week . And I have no idea of how early you should reasonnably leave, but in case you want to take this very early RER, I suggest that we check this again some time closer to your trip in case they modify the schedule .

Thanks Anne. I'm seriously hopeful that we don't need to leave as early as 5:24 AM.

Happy, we hop on the RER about 3 hours before our flight departs, and we usually end up with 10 or 15 minutes before boarding to peruse the shops to spend our loose change on a snack or newspaper for the plane.

Great, Annette. Thanks. I was hoping it was around 7-7:30-ish. That's perfect.
