I have NO idea how on earth the creme brulee foie gras came about! I can only describe it as kind of sweet and savory all at the same time...it looked like a regular creme brulee, but the burnt sugar top had salt as well as sugar, and the creamy filling had the yummy richness of foie gras. My husband surmised that they just took some foie gras and blended it, and added it to the mixture. It wasn't real sweet and it wasn't real salty...it was served as an entree, not a dessert. If anyone can find a recipe that would be super!
Anne...we can get E. Guigal wines here in the states. I agree - they are very good, but expensive and for us at least, the only producer of Hermitage and Côte Rôtie that we can find. It was nice to be able to sample many other producers.
I'm going to try to get my pics downloaded this week and I will fill you in on our adventures in Nice, Provence and the Corbieres!

Wow, that is a great recipe,, I mean I love the way it is laid out, and the photos,, it makes it look easy... And Sis , your desription actually reassured me,, it wasn't a dessert after all, BUT,,
the photos of the actual fois gras going in the blender made me gag!!! I am sorry, some things should just never go in a blender,, LOL I will take your word for it,, it was delicious right? !!
Now, fess up,, how did you really get all that wine home intact, bubble wrap, cardboard, mega woolie scarfs ,, giant plastic bags, newpapers,, what , and how!!
