Gitte, you forgot the colonnes de Buren in your list of weird artsy installations . But I don't include the forum des Halles in that category : this and the Centre Pompidou are just examples of the dreadful '70s architecture style .

Voila...the proposed new Eiffel look (in case you have not looked this up already). Below is what the platform apparently is proposed to look like from above: They say it would be temporary, I believe..but I wonder....

Yes, the Space Needle! I knew it reminded me of something, but hadn't put my finger on it yet.
Has anyone come across information about when construction will begin and what kind of an impact it will have on visitors?

Ultimately, it's supposed to be able to accomodate twice as many visitors at a given time, so theoretically, the wait should be cut by half (though, I don't quite understand that, since you still have wait for the elevators).

Let all take a step back. On this morning show of A2 Télématin, the news was that the Société d`Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel did not approve ANY project, not even the one everybody was talking about around the world. So Mademoiselle la tour can slept peaceful and so can we! Here is a link to the video , just fast-forward to the news bulletin at 39:28 minutes. telematin.france2.fr/index-fr.php?page=vod

You are right Luc, nothing is about to be done yet . And I agree with Doug : even if the tower was made to accomodate more people at a time, there would still be a big bottleneck at the elevators . Gitte, look at the beginning of Luc's video, this is ... your WILLIAAAM

I LOVE IT - - - I LOVE IT - - - I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!! Watching Télématin, William and his gang and le météo all morning from 06:30 - and practising listening to and understanding as much French as possible, while getting ready for another wonderful day, is for me THE Paris icon.......... I feel totally teleported to Paris now !! OMG, I feel a heavy attack of PPP (Pre-Paris-Pining) coming in !! Question: is it really possible to watch Télematin on this site every day, even live-on-air ??

Question: is it really possible to watch Télematin on this site every day, even live-on-air ?? You can see under the video screen that all the latest émissions are fully available for watching . And we discovered yesterday that one émission is available on the net on the same day as it is broadcasted . Now I suggest that you wait until Monday morning to check whether you can actually watch it "direct live" or whether you have to wait for a few hours before being able to access it on the net . I am sure that you would love to get ready for your working day in DK while watching William and thus being able to daydream that you are getting ready for another Paris day ...

The strange top they want to put on reminds me of that stranger hat Cher wore one year to the Oscars! It was sort of basket like too! LOL
