Not having a computer at home, I want to thank everyone today for sharing some great info to take with me this trip. I'm sure the trip will be that much more enjoyable for knowing the fun reports I hope to share when we get back. Sistereurope is bringing her laptop, so maybe I can crash her apartment (which is coincidentally just around the corner from mine) and send good wishes to you all from Paris. Seriously, I am so grateful to Truffaut, Luc and friends for creating this forum...I'm very happy to have "met" so many friends from around the world though this site - how cool is that?!?

Bundle up, and have a really great time (how could you not?)! I loved Paris at Christmas, and will be thinking about you all!
Be sure to go to the flower market on Ile de la Cite to look at all the Christmas trees - stuck into a split log as a holder. You might even end up getting a little one for your apartment (we did that, and I got some small ornaments at a shop on rue du Bac - we gave some to BIL Phil who was with us, and the rest came home for future years).

We were just in Paris (less than 24 hours!) and walked from the hotel (Renaissance Vendome, thank you Marriott points!) to Mariage Freres and back. It was really cold, so we had tea at the shop - crowded but fun. (They have a new Christmas tea that I liked, Blanc Noel.)
It was great fun to see all the decorated streets and stores (the street running to Place Vendome had "chandeliers" hanging above the street - very cute, and I tried to get some pictures but have not yet checked whether you can actually see what it looked like, if so I will post one).
You'll have a great time! You'll be in PARIS for Christmas!

Merry christmas everyone! I'm getting ready and doing some last minute packing.
Please, everyone send some get-well wishes to my mom Luckymama, who's not feeling so lucky at the moment. She came down with that nasty stomach bug last night and, well let's just say that she spent a very rough night. I just talked to her and she said she was going to try to rest and to keep down some fluids. Our flight leaves at 5PM Eastern time...I'm just praying that she recovers enough to get on the plane.
Hopefully this will be the storm before the calm!!!!
OK, be good everyone...I'll check in from Paris, hopefully with some good news... wish us well!!!
