I did it - I did it - I did it !!!! <(doing an Indian raindance around the desk)> Mommy is going to Paris next summer for - - - now hold on to your garters, ladies - - - 3 weeks !!! Arriving Wednesday 25th June in the evening, staying in a nearby hotel for the first night to relax after the long, hard, tiresome journey (2 hours flight) - and THEN moving into "my" apartment in La Nouvelle Athènes quartier on Thursday 26th June - and NOT going home until Thursday 17th July 2008. I am not trying to make you envious or anything ;D ;D - but you just might take a look at the goodies: www.perfectlyparis.com/Pigalle%20Panorama.htmlDid you notice the balcony and the free-of-charge internet ?? Come into my boudoir: And enjoy the view: So 3 weeks could also mean a possible 2 day trip with the TGV to Provence ?? A quick swim in the Mediterranean ?? YYYYEEEEEHAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandy and Annette: My invitation to a champagne get-together still stands !! Only this balcony may not be able to accomodate us all (I'll consider myself lucky if it doesn't crash with me on it). p.s. invitation does not include champagne, only the cozy ambiance.....

Hmm..I am starting to think trips to Paris would be easier if I moved back to Poland!
GitteK, both the apartment and the views look gorgeous! I am positive you will have a great time!

If I were going to be there I would bring the champers. I discovered last trip that Monoprix has 1/2 bottles that are really decent for about 8 euros! SO cheers!

That's a terrific apartment, Gitte, and three weeks in Paris is going to be a dream come true. Gee...you sure know how to make us all jealous. ;D Anyway, we'll all be looking forward to your entertaining trip reports while you're there. Too bad we won't be able to meet, but by the time you arrive, I definitely have to be back in Israel because my son's wedding is at the beginning of July.

Well, maybe I could make it, now that we have a TGV here too... Don't bother about champagne for me, I'll bring my own private bottle of Beaume de Venise anyway . Is Mister Gitte going to join you at some time ?

anne266, no, Mr. Gitte does not like big cities, so he is happy to stay home. He would hate the crowds, the noise, the traffic and most of all the nonstop walking from morning till evening.

Now I could be really, really jealous because you visit Paris so often, but since you are so generous about sharing your trip reports, I suppose I can let you go...again. Mez

And what does your house look like when you come back after having left Mr Gitte on his own for a few weeks ?

That's a good one Gitte ! ;D Well, if Mr Gitte is taking good care of the house and assuming that he does also manage his laundry and ironing, what about going wild and considering a ... 4 weeks stay in 2009 ?!

Looks like a great apartment but don't you have a trip to Paris with your Mor before that? Denmark is so nice and close to Paris and the exchange rate so much better, I really envy you--in a nice way of course because it is about as easy for you to go to Paris as it is for us to fly to Boston. Boston is a nice city but certainly not Paris. ;D

yes, holger, I have my "Taking the 67+girls to the Big City" in September.
Very relaxed, doing the usual stuff: Seine-cruise, Sainte Chapelle, Notre-Dame, markets, maybe a museum etc.
Not too much walking and I must remember to included lots of pauses and coffeebreaks.

Yes, you do have your trip with your Mother and her friend coming up too! Yowee! Well, your three week trip next summer, I note..includes the fireworks/celebration of Bastille Day! Very excellent! I was able to catch some lovely fireworks (from afar) this time via that streamline site you mentioned (there were replays on one of them that was excellent)..but of course, nothing beats being there!
