Aha,, does anyone ever suffer from my version of PPD ( PRE Paris Depression),, I am leaving in three weeks, and as I make plans for what I want to see and do,, all I can think is,, oh I wish I could stay abit longer, another two days and I could do such and such!!! It is shameful I know to be depressed BEFORE going,, but it is only becuase I am so spoilt ,, and I want MORE!! It is not my fault that Paris has so much to offer,, I hate to miss anything, and of course, on such short intermittent visits one cannot do everything!! When we retire I want to spend MONTHS in Europe,, with France ( I really want to do the Dorgodne area as well as the south, and of course weeks in Paris) taking up at least 6 weeks of that time!

sister-senorita....... easy on those margueritas, OK ? If our darling Shoesy was back from the US of A already, it would mean that the wedding is off - maybe the bride ran off with a lion tamer...... BUT as I have not had any message from her mentioning such a catastrophe, I assume that she is still over there. Went to Manhattan with her sister today, AFAIK.

Yes Sister, don't have too many for me today as I have to be fine and sober to meet Shoesy tomorrow! Hopefully at this moment..3:30pm here... she is at a Broadway show as Gitte suggested. However we had serious storms(thunder and lightening, heavy rain, train delays, etc.) overnight and this morning so I hope all went well. It has cleared up now..sure now they are inside!
Supposed to be more bad weather tonite and maybe tomorrow naturally!

>>Have you swam in the ocean?<<
Can you really say that ??
Wouldn't it be "Did you swim in the ocean" ??
Sorry, but I am not a native anglais, so I wouldn't know - only I wondered.......
ps. Right now I have a serious attack of PPD....... hubby is watching TV about Tour de France and they play some really old song with a French singer and accordeon/musette music...... the turn-of-the-century Montmartre artiste feel is coming to get me..... AARRRRGGGGHHHHH !!! WHAT AM I DOING HERE ??

Present Perfect Tense Singular I have swum You have swum He/she/it has swum Plural We have swum You have swum They have swum So indeed...I make one glitch...and the Danish are all over me! (actually I likely make more "glitches" than I care to realize! ha! Let's blame it on margaritas! yes!)

Geordy and Shoesy, We all want a report of this meeting tomorrow. Hope the weather clears so you don't have to dodge the lightening, etc. Have a great time! Please don't spend all your time in PPD. Post Paris Depression!

Uh oh, guess I'd better ease up on the margaritas! Actually I haven't even had any so far today...I've been swimming in the ocean (had a swim...I swam....) I had to come in though - it's very windy today. It's just that I skimmed the board and somehow thought that Shoesy was home. How could I forget about the wedding?!!! Sorry Shoesy, my mind is on vacation. Here's the view from my front window, taken yesterday:

Totally awesome view, SE! One of my other loves (besides Paris!) is the ocean...so I AM envious of you right now! So it is windy!? Good for waves, but maybe too much, eh? Well, fun to have you popping in! We were all getting quite tipsy vicariously from your margartas...only to find you have not had any yet today! ha! So now we have all properly sobered up! Yes, tomorrow, Geordy and Shoesy will get together in NYC, and thereafter we eagerly await a report from them !

It's very different here - the ocean on one side, a desert on the other. Here's a friend we met on our way to town (we also have cows ): So very different from Shoesy and Geordy! I will be thinking of them and will have a maragrita toast in their honor...

The plot doth thicken! I was signing off(and bouncing btw here on Firefox and AOL) when Shoesy pm -ed me about our meeting point. So I missed her message and just answered her now, and they are probably out and about. She and her sister did see a show, A Chorus Line, but were thinking of seeing another one in the evening . So as of now we have our meeting at 11:00 in front of Tiffany's! But, there are breaking news reports of an explosion near Grand Central Station (where Shosey's train back to her sister's leaves from) Not to worry, if they are staying they will be at diner someplace before the show or at any rate not there, and the reports say no injuries. I just hope the trains aren't screwed up tonite and tomorrow! Tomorrow is predicted as steamy with the possibility of heavy afternoon thundershowers. Perfect!

Geordy, Oh, dear about the explosions! I heard it was a transformer possibly? Oh, dear! Well, if it is not the weather, it is explosions! Hopefully their plans are unhampered yet! I wonder what show they will go to tonight! You and Shoesy meeting in front of Tiffanys tomorrow! What fun!

They are saying a steam pipe explosion. Advising people to stay out of area because of fumes??!! I hope it all subsides before Shoesy and family head home...probably around 11ish if they are staying for a show and all is well and we are on for tomorrow! Always something as they say

Well, schwamm darĂ¼ber - as the Germans say..... "Have you swum" sounds even weirder even if correct ! Une autre question, cybee: >>Totally awesome view, SE!<< ......eeehhhh, of what ?? There's nothing to see, save maybe a seagull in the left side of the photo ?? Untill I looked up a map over the glorious nation of US of A and realized that you live smack in the middle !! So to you, staring at all that water IS the view !! How sweet. And you actually have a city named Pierre - how francais !!

Hi or hola sistereurope! Just to make you feel better, I thought Shoesy had gone home too for a bit. I think it was her one post about being jet-lagged, until I realized that she was still jet-lagged from the original trip! Its nice to have Shoesy jet-lagged on the east coast, because someone else over here is up at 5 am with me!
Enjoy the trip!

Yes, GitteK! You are SO correct! I love the ocean..and thus the view of the ocean is awesome to me! I live as far away from it as possible...so yes, your detection skills supplied your own answer! ;D We do have the Missouri river here, but basically we are the "great" plains! ha! Yes, English is a funny language! I have been watching the Tour de France, and listened to Rasmussen (doing so well!) talk and tried to glean from that your cute accent...but like you, he speaks English very well but he did not seem to have all that much of an accent!

Muffy--I can relate! I read some of your posts on TA as well, and it seems we both stayed at the Muguet recently. Anyway, yeah, it is hard to come home from a trip to Paris. We were only home for just over a week when we had another vacation, but it just wasn't the same even though it is one of my favorite spots (central OR). Oh well, lol! One thing that can help is to check your mastercard bill. I finally decided to read mine...OMG that was a jolt of reality! LOL! Not pretty...not at all.
