I wanted to thank you all for all of the advice and support that you've given me while I've been planning this trip ! We're leaving tomorrow, and I haven't begun to pack. I have , however, cleaned the entire house, because for some crazy reason I can't leave on a trip unless my house is spotless! I hope to return with some great pictures and maybe I'll even figure out how to post them!

Un très bon voyage. Enjoy every minutes and don't worry if you can not fit everything Paris is not going anywhere, and there is nothing better than the first time, except the second..
The weather is slowly warming up, but it is still on the fresh side in the evenings and mornings so don't forget a light coat.

Golden, have a really great time! I can't believe your departure is here already -- enjoy it, don't stress about it, and come back with a few highlights to share!

>>>The weather is slowly warming up, but it is still on the fresh side in the evenings and mornings so don't forget a light coat.<<<
Well, the Parisian girls are wearing leatherboots and woolen scarves, soooooo the rumours of the warming up are slightly exaggerated !
The morning temperatures have been around 13-15 C and the afternoon temperatures about 19-20 C. This is very cold, compared to the usual Parisian midsummer. There have also been showers and very cold winds. The past week there has hardly been any sunshine at all - only for maybe 1/2 hour at a time, and then low black/grey clouds again.
Le Parisien had 2 full pages this morning with articles about how terrible it all is, showing pictures of people with jackets and long trousers sitting in beachchairs on the coast somewhere. It has only been the south of France (about the most southern 25% of the country) which has been sunny. In Le Massif Central (where there are mountains) the morning temps. are down about 8-9 C in the mornings.
I watch TeleMatin on TV2 each morning, so I have followed this closely. Also I LOOOOVE the host William, he is the cutest !
But, yes - tomorrow is supposed to be "The Only Warm and Sunny Summerday" for the next two weeks, according to Le Parisien this morning and the weatherman in TeleMatin on TV2. So Tout Paris is going to be outdoors tomorrow !

Yes, the weather is not so great in Europe at the moment but that won't make the slightest difference, you won't be going to Paris for that bronze tan and a snooze on the beach right? You will be exploring every crevice, smelling wonderful things, tasting heavenly delights....Have a truely fantastic time, again I feel envy creeping upon me.....I shall miss your funny little pictures but can't wait to see the ones upon your return ;D

I can only hope the weather stays cool until I get there on July 31. I have been hoping for an unusual cool spell but I'll probably get the mother of all heat waves by the time I arrive!

Bon voyage, Goldenmama! I hope you have an amazing time.
I too have to clean my house before travelling - maybe it's a vegetarian thing?!
Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Nope, not a veg but I too clean! And put out clean towels and fresh sheets on the bed. I think since we stay in hotels and are used to maid service there..I don't want to come home to a mess! However there are always my lists and some dry cleaning bags, hangers hanging around for my return!! And bottles of water, beer, champagne, wine in the fridge..so whatver the time or mood I can have whatever I want!

Maybe it's just a nesting thing! ;D I'm another one who hates to come home from a trip to a messy house. After the packing hurricane subsides and the bags are closed up and sitting by the door, I try to clean up, run the dishwasher, etc. (so that when I return after about 24 hours in transit, I can just sink into comfort without fretting! )

I too do a FULL house clean before a trip, even if I am leaving someone to house sit, be it friend or daughter who already lives here.....I would love to have a psychologists analysis on why we do this LOL

Goldenmama - Have a wonderful trip! I'm certain that your sweet little doggy will have a blast at camp while his mommy is enjoying Paris. Hey, you guys........why did you all have to remind me that I have lots of cleaning to do before I leave for the States on July 11th?
