poor andi - couldn't you go to some local swimminghall and bathe ? Then you could do some swimming (good for the floppy thighs and grandma style upper arms) - and take a long shower too ?

Hi Gitte, both my mum and our eldest live very close by so we don't have to worry about "going off".......we call those grandma style upper arms "Bingo Wings" LOL, to be honest we do take the grandson swimming but haven't been able to this week with all the curfuffle......any room in your suitcase? P.S its getting so close now Gitte, you must be doing a jig! ;D

Hello everyone..... ;D see smiley faces...... My kitchen is finally done, It has only taken 11 days, instead of the estimated 2-4 LOL. We have just put everything back in, only one small problem to sort out tomorrow. The plumbers have put the wrong connecter on one of my pipes for my washing maching, the other is right but it leaks, I will call them in the morning. Overall I love it to bits, I just need to get something to dress the window and maybe a few nice plants. We don't really like the floor (that was our fault, our choice) and are thinking of replacing it with something nicer in a week or two. ;D

Andi, it looks lovely and like a very efficient use of space too. Good for you. We couldn't get a really good look at the floor from the picture, so we love it!

Andi--your kitchen looks great! I'm happy for you to have it finished. I thought of you this morning while I was without power again (they're moving the main electrical panel for our garage addition), and was wondering if you guys were all finished. Your wall color is very cheery! And 11 days is amazing! Our kitchen re-do took 6 weeks!

Lovely, Andi! I really love the color of the walls (that blue! What shade is that again? Seems it was stated earlier) and the airy, light look of the tiles and cabinets also! So wonderful to have a kitchen one is happy with! When we first moved into this house, we redid our kitchen and it was a struggle! I thought eating out would be fun, but I sure learned quick that I missed having my kitchen to cook in! Now I am still so pleased with our kitchen (years later of enjoying it) and so it was well worth the struggles attendant to redoing a kitchen as you are finding!

Wow -- sleek and beautiful! (And so's your kitchen, LOL!) I know you were going nuts about it, but obviously it was worth waiting for!

Congratulations!!! Looks beautiful -- Love the color of the walls and countertops and the modern design of the cabinets and pulls. It's so fun to see the "after" . Hope you can keep it so clean and uncluttered!

What a lovely kitchen you have, Andi! I'm sure it was worth what you had to go through for all those days. Use it in good health.

OK andi - I used to be sympathetic and now I'm jealous because your project is DONE!!
No, really I am VERY happy for you - it's just lovely! Now you'll have to tell us what kind of wonderful meals you've cooked in your beautiful new kitchen!!

Of course, Andi will be cooking only those specially selected recipes that appear in the forum (so, we'd better all get busy posting our favorite French recipes, before she loses her appetite out of boredom with making the same 10 meals over and over!). ;D

Ahhhh bless you all, it is nice to have my kitchen back and I did only just comment to hubby that I WILL be trying out some of the recipes on here (so post away please) We enjoyed a lovely meal of pasta with salad (plenty of dressing) and garlic baguette last night......yumminess at its finest! (well it was after what we have been eating lately)..........To all those who are still mid project I wish you well, I now understand the exhaustion/frustration you are feeling. And finally a huge thank you to all who shared my experiences with me.

Andi, Twizzling? Does that mean curling it around your fingers? JKind of absent mindedly? If so..me too! I break myself of it temporarily but put me in a room with someone's who's doing it and I'm a mirror image! Neither of my sisters do it but one of my nieces does!! Happy Eating..and Happy Cooking as Jacques Pepin says!!

Geordy thats exactly it.......I really don't realise I am doing it half the time, then wonder why my hair has gone into "rats tails" and needs washing so often. I only do it when my hair reaches a certain length (I even tie it in knots with one hand)

I don't do knots..and it doesn't really get to look ratty but when people..as they will..tell me I'm doing it.. I say "But it feels SO good"..not like a psychological crutch..but a sensual experience..it is soft, silky...Really ..some people's hair doesn't feel that way!
But I don't think it looks particularly good ....so trying to stop!
