Through this site and others, I get conflicting information over purchasing a Navigo Decouverte with an Hebdomadaire Carte Orange. The Hebdo ticket looks like it's the best for me, except I will arrive in Paris on a Thursday. Some sites say the Hebdo can be bought through Tuesday, some say Wednesday, some say Thursday, for the pass expiring Sunday.
Can anyone clarify if I could get the Hebdo when I arrive on a Thursday?

The CO is sold thru Wednesdays for that week. None are sold on Thursdays. On Fridays the pass sold will not be good until the following Monday. You'll have to use a carnet of tickets or purchase a Mobilis for daily travel.

Merci, Demarais! I will get either a carnet or the Mobilis pass, if they still have them.

Yes, the Mobilis passes are still available. They're a bit difficult to find in the automated machines, though. You have to skip past all the screens with the various passes and go to the section for individual tickets. At the bottom of that screen, you'll see the option for purchasing Mobilis.

Demarais,
I noticed in your reply that you stated that the CO could be purchased through Wednesday of the week - does that mean that Carte Orange is still alive?? I had thought that CO couldn't be purchased anymore - had to be Navigo Decouverte. Just curious - if CO is still going I wonder if it will be in April?

I've heard various remarks concerning whether the "old" Carte Orange is still available. A friend who lives in Paris said it was still available at some stations. I don't see any advantage to trying to use an old CO with the ticket, the chipped cards are so much easier to use. I don't even have to remove my UK Oyster card from my purse, I just press the outside pocket I carry it in up to the reader. That alone makes it worth the 5E charge for the Navigo Decouverte

Thanks, guess I'll have to give the ND a try - it does sound much easier than running the ticket through each time for either the CO or a ticket from a carnet.

I've never used the forfeit loisirs for Versailles but think it will be the way to go with our group next time. Can it be purchased ahead and used on any day, or does it need to be purchased the day we will be visiting the chateau?

Gitte, You were in Finland? Where did you go and stay and eat. My Finnish son and his family live downtown. I am so envious of you right now, I may start to cry. Oh no............... sb

I was told that there is an escalator at the St. Michele RER station if you walk to the rear of the train. Is that not correct?

There is an escaltor from the platform but you still have a short flight of stairs to the street

From the French Transilien site "Vous pouvez l’acheter à l’avance. Il est valable tous les jours d’ouverture du parc en 2008 à compter du 5 avril"
So yes you can purchased it ahead and used on any day.
