Dave, I have no idea what Community Coffee is, but you will find very decent coffees, even if not gourmet, at the Monoprix . You will also be able to chose between ground coffee and beans (and even instant, yuck) . Most of coffees are sold in 250 grams bags .

I'm drinking one now! La Maison du Cafe, Tradition. Made in my Krups Coffee/Expresso Maker. Also brought back another "brick" of Dia Degustation.

I am a fan of Comptoir Richard coffee and I might have been the one that posted on that subject ..........
I know of the store at about 145 rue St. Dominique in the 7th. However, there may be others. Their coffees are wonderful and they will grind the beans for you. I'm sure you could "Google" Comptoir Richard and may come up with a store that may be closer to where you will be staying.
However, I purchased coffee (not sure of what brand) at a Monoprix on one of my trips to Paris to bring home and it was wonderful.
Enjoy!

Strong Community Coffee would be similar to that you would get at Cafe DuMonde with your beignets in New Orleans. Helps reverse the effects of Pat O'Brien's Hurricanes -a notoriously bad drunk drink!!

Hi Dave, Joy and I are both big Comptoir Richard fans. Their coffees are delish! You can buy many different varieties, both whole bean or ground. And they will, as Joy said, grind the beans for you. I'm sure it would make even coffee-maker coffee taste good....or at least better.
